Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Cold, Flu, and COVID Season on the way.

What will our illustrious C-suite do when viruses spread like a wild fire through the packed spaces of our hubs? Lots of calling in sick. Lots of employees upset about the unhealthy conditions of our sardine can hubs.

It will be interesting to see how incompetent execs deal with the extra special resentment and opportunities for employee revenge.

I went to the office all week with a Norovirus. If you get explosive diarrhea, that’s my fault. Oh well.

“ Masks work too. If you don’t think so, please ask your surgeon and nurses not to wear one when the need to open you up and operate. Or similarly, maybe ask the folks who cook your food not to wash their hands after taking a #2. It’s basic friggin science.”

Regurgitating logical fallacies has nothing to do with science.

I suspect it’ll work the same way as it has for the past 100 years when a cold or flu goes through an office. This isn’t new ground we’re treading on.

Looks like my previous post was deleted and maybe it should have been so let me try again…,

You folks that think Covid was a fraud or some conspiracy are just not thinking things through.

Thankfully, things have gotten much better due to natural infection and, like it or not, through vaccinations.

Masks work too. If you don’t think so, please ask your surgeon and nurses not to wear one when the need to open you up and operate. Or similarly, maybe ask the folks who cook your food not to wash their hands after taking a #2. It’s basic friggin science.

Hopefully the virus does not kick into high gear again as we all go back to the office in very crowded scenarios. It was / is not just a cold and you all know it.

Be well and be kind.

I was thinking about that too. I'm not much concerned about covid, as it seems much like any flu now, but yeah, I'm used to being in a building for 1,100, but with 50 people in it, and in two weeks, they want to put (I heard) 1,400 there? even with staggered days, it might lead to a lot of sick days! LOL

They don't have to pay you severance if you are dead.

They don’t care. They have made their stupid decisions, and unless there’s another state or Federal requirement to comply, along with a tax credit or dollar incentive to do so. So, using Covid, kids, clothing, commute distance, or anything “inconvenient” for you will not stop RTO.

However, Osha can, if there are unhealthy or unsafe conditions.

"I understand having to make a choice to relocate but that is a different issue. The continual pi----g and moaning about RTO and your small inconveniences is getting old, BOO-HOO!! No sympathy here! Go to your destination, this isn’t your company and you don’t sign the paychecks. You have an option like the rest of us, go work elsewhere."

I believe that you are too emotionally invested in this. That su-ks. Try to disconnect and focus on yourself, your life, family, friends. Don't worry so much about other people you've never mt and what they're doing. It's super freeing. Try it.

Covid is like a cold or the flu now, quit overreacting. If you feel unsafe wear your ineffective mask and get a booster, you can follow all the previous protocols but leave the rest of us alone. Quit trying to bring back the clot shot.

Funny how most managers during the pandemic were privileged to WFH while the rest of us, “essential” employees had to report to work everyday. I don’t remember their being any mass outrage from managers for occupational’s nor their families health during that period of time when people were dying in quantity.

Now the shoes on the other foot in a extremely less uncertain or dangerous time, they are trying everything and use any excuse they can come up with not to RTO. I understand having to make a choice to relocate but that is a different issue. The continual pi----g and moaning about RTO and your small inconveniences is getting old, BOO-HOO!! No sympathy here! Go to your destination, this isn’t your company and you don’t sign the paychecks. You have an option like the rest of us, go work elsewhere.

"I'm starting to understand the reasoning for RTW. This policy will remove so many slackers. It is long past time."

Says, I presume, the field technician of some sort, whose cohort likes to boast about driving drunk around the suburbs, drinking Jack and Everclear. Get over yourself.

Go to the office. It is no more than a cold now. Mask do not do any good either. Grow up.

They will do what they have always done and what every company does. Nothing. Su-k it up buttercup and go to work. "Managers".... You are a joke.
