Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Tangled Web

The more WF tries to streamline everything, the more redundant and chaotic things become and I think it’s become a big tangled mess including getting paid well to do some very easy stuff

Can’t get anything done anymore. I have high priority work dependent on other teams who are severely short handed due to layoffs and with so much urgent changes going on across the board are overtaxed. So everyone escalates everything making escalation meaningless.

Tech is a shitshow of disfunction because detached from reality executives are making calls to gash teams without any fo-e thought in the middle of a massive transformation.

They have yet to learn from two big banking issues this year.

Get the transformation done, then right size employees.

It's called Service Now gone wild. You basically have three things: platforms, products, and processes. This bank is based on a shaky platform, with jenga like products resting on top of it, and development processes (as well as risk management processes) gone wild.
Within the next 10 years this bank will be swept up with the JPM star wars CBDC sarlacc. By then stock buybacks will be far from our minds.

How about the people that check the checkers before they are checked? I am looking at you Compliance QA.

The PMO or ECM is now even more messed up and manual than it was in 2013. The business partners screamed to high heaven about not wanting program managers and they got what they wished for. More work. Manual change controls and redundant share point sites to save status reports is what they got. Good job Wells Fargo!!

True! Maybe we should be Web Fargo. I’d like to see the marketing for that.

Agile. Hire a bunch of overpaid babysitters to do a job an astute and attentive 6th grade girl could do — and create excessive and unnecessary processes to hand over to them.

They just want a way to “track” progress so that it’s all quantified and the blame game is easier when it comes to town.
