It didn't help, but Portland would have been shut down either way. If there was an impact, all it did was bump up their urgency.

@1xaz+1oeAiMaT

I've been saying it in other threads for months and people need to get on board to the reality the the only purpose of the "location strategy" is to herd people into a constantly shrinking pool of buildings so they can fire them en masse with a charade of an excuse as to why. 'oh no, you guys are greeeeeaat but due to market conditions we need to close/sell the building, and as a result you're being downsized." It was the plan all along.

This will happen in every market eventually, outside of NYC and I&P and for a while anyway, Charlotte.

They sure as heck aren't going to let people from BC WFH, don't even get your hopes up there. They'd much rather fire you.

The people in Hudson Yards are evil and hate you. Every aspect of their behavior confirms it.

Could this have anything to do with the new paid time off for Healthcare law in oregon?

So if Barnhart is not renewing the lease, what are the plans for those who remain? Will they too be let go, WFH full time or a different building? There is no way they are keeping any Portland downtown property.

Barnhart was supposed to be the new center of gravity when the tower got sold and we pulled a lot of people out of there. 900+ in the bldg when we put the tower up FS, 400 now including contractors that don't even go in. Might as well just bail on the tower and barnhart at this point and put the remnants you're going to keep in SP. There's also a call center in Salem IIRC, but it's just a matter of time before Wells shuts it all down. Only question is, which US site will be last. It won't be Portland.

After the closing of other Portland area sites, Barnhart has become the holding place until everyone in Portland is eventually laid off. It’s by far the cheapest lease

"Lord knows we won’t get any emails to tell us what is happening."

Yeah, for the last few years we've all been getting the mushroom treatment: kept in the dark and fed full of sh!t.

Log the # of people that come up in a TM search for the location in question, then watch to see if/when the numbers change.

Anyone else spending time each week looking for .zz in their contacts? Lord knows we won’t get any emails to tell us what is happening.

Anyone have a better way to figure out what’s happening?

I heard several groups were "displaced" at WBC in Oregon. Any word on what groups and how many? Currently supposed to be moving from Sunset, but seems likely we're next

@vvt+1oeAiMaT Hillsboro S.P was never at capacity so 1300 were NOT cut today...maybe 600+ will move to WBC. Could be less if some of those 600+ were let go today. I'm sorry to hear this but not surprised

Hillsburrito has over 1300 people, so this might be a big cut or a haircut, hard to say until more reports roll in.

From what I'm hearing upper management is laying remote people off indiscriminately in lines of business that are over budget, with zero regard to skillset, knowledge, or responsibilities. Remember when Twitter's technology started failing after Musk cleaned house? It will likely happen here.

I think I'm getting the axe today. Have been working remotely for over 6 years. We sort of got kicked out of our office in SF with that location 2020 fail, so a bunch of us moved and went remote.

Got a me meeting request from my boss this morning asking to discuss a timely issue. Sounds like it to me. I'm in Tech DTI

I'm expecting to be let go after all the nonsense of years past has been cleaned up and the newbies taking over have successfully implemented their nonsense.

No disrepect to any individual worker, nonsense is the default here at WF.

I was chopped today as a BM in NJ. My coaching was subpar according to my leader ... However we were in the top 3 performance wise in her district ---If my points to my staff weren't getting anywhere, we would not have performed.
I just believe it's consolidation where they might have 1 bm cover 2 branches --- Whatever, on to the next venture ---
