Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

SVP of Customer Care Nicole Rafferty retiring Oct13.

Does anyone know if it was by choice or if she was pushed?

There will likely be others soon as they take their golden parachutes and flee to better opportunities

She and other execs have been looking to leave for awhile and leave their loyal workers to fend for themselves

She will be fine. This makes the case that we are not a family, but workers temporarily bound by the need for money to work for this soulless company. Don't look for anything more than a paycheck from AT&T

She will never want for a great paying executive position. All she needs to do is flash that beautiful smile and she's in. That's how big business works!

She was incompetent and promoted due to her gender and appearance. She checked the right boxes. Can't wait to see who they replace her with.

I dunno, but I'm trying to keep track of how many executives are leaving the Company.

Once I see enough of them heading to the lifeboats, that's my cue that something's about to go down.

My current theory is since the Company has offloaded the annuity to an insurance company ( Athene ), they now have a stick to use against anyone who is old enough to still have a pension.

Aka: How to force the old folks to retire without pi----g off the EEOC.

It's just theory but, my money is on AT&T removing the lump sum pension option unless you retire by X date. Since they're out of the annuity ballgame, they don't really care.

Not pushed out. We aren’t the only company recruiting and promoting blondes. More where she came from, and more will leave for same reason.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. She was so phony and transparent during RTO meetings, trying so desperately to come off as compassionate. Good riddance.

Working under Rafferty was chaos. She was not efficient in positioning her resources. She would ask 5 people for the same thing and then not tell anyone they were working on the same thing. Everyone would run around in different directions trying to get the same point.. You only found out others were doing the same thing because you would request something and they would ask what you were working on because they need the same thing.

BTW, she is 44 years old.

It's irrelevant as to the wording in the email you nimrod. The point is it's a sudden departure and doesn't look good when executives abruptly resign.

There's really no hope for you if you think the problem is at the rep level.

"All employees with jobs directly associated with customer service should be fired and replaced."

The email said nothing about retiring. It simple said she has intended to leave the business. Yet yall wonder why the company is spiraling. You folks can’t even read the email that was sent.

She was Stankey's "chief of staff" about 10 years ago. Probably not even 50 years old yet... cleaning house.

Customer service at at&t, you've got to be kidding. They wouldn't know customer service if they tripped over it. All employees with jobs directly associated with customer service should be fired and replaced.

Sad this is the best content on the ATT page today. Everything else has turned into BS. I only want to know about actual layoffs, not all this wasteful DEI bullcr-p

She’s “retiring” just like Angie. (Wink, wink!)

Most likely she is part of Wave 1 and didn't want to relocate. I know of quite of few folks in my organization (J. Legg) that are in the same situation and are 'retiring'.

Pretty sure that was a push out or she didn’t want to relocate. Who knows. I reported to her at one point. I actually thought she was pretty nice and felt like she actually cared about folks.
