I had COU for at years, and always kept personal apps and data on the device. Including family photos, and social media apps. Never once had a problem with COU contacting me or deleting anything.

There are no rules prohibiting personal pics, apps, etc. on COU. For those stating there are, state the source.

"It is a violation of company policy and can get you terminated."

Please do point out the exact wording in this alleged strict policy.

For managers…….If you read the policy that you signed, we can have personal items on our COU. AT&T is not the evil tyrant that doesn’t allow personal usage on your COU when people don’t have personal phones as well.

Be aware that if on COU device you are subject to monitoring but as long as you are not doing anything illegal or accessing items that you should not be on any device, COU or not, you are fine.

"Why risk it?"

Risk what? I've had one for 15 years with personal apps on it. No one cares.

This is AT&T. No one cares until they do. Someone in staff will need to produce a report to justify their job, they will reach out to the outsourced technology (India). You might get an email. Tank U.

I’ve applied for jobs via the app on COU. Ain’t nothing happened other than getting a new job.

What’s funny is people worrying about an app instead of realizing the company is completely, slowly collapsing around them. This company won’t last as long at Linkedin.

The safety people are going around in the Central offices looking for things that have been overlooked for decades like an old microwave oven. They bother not that there is no lighting ANYWHERE. They want easy targets that cost zero money to correct to justify their job.
Yes Sir, I'll get rid of that microwave that has been in a room I've not been in 10 years, just don't trip on your way out, the lights are kind of dim.

Surely you have a personal cell phone. Handle your business on that.

All these scaredy cats, download whatever you want. Ain't nobody got time to waste, worrying about someone else's COU device. The company just suggests not loading apps, they don't outlaw it.

Wow you are not thinking. It is a violation of company policy and can get you terminated. No unemployment, no Salary Continuation. Clean up all company devices. Delete any personal/family pics and AP’s. If you don’t, you are at risk!

OP here. I should have specified to using the web version of LinkedIn and not the app. We aren’t supposed to download apps on a company device.

It's COU, they scan on regular bases for non approved apps and will delete anything they don't think is OK.

No. I would not have ANY non ATT app on COU. None. Zero.

As there are linked in classes on PLE, I would say that it is ok to have it on you COU as well. I think it is good to be a verified AT&T employee on LinkedIN.
