Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Remote-Nebraska Only

There's a mixed message from Fiserv. There are 3 reqs opened in the past 4 days for remote positions, but it's only open to Nebraska residents.

I thought the consensus with FB is all remote is going away. Anyone know what gives?

Everything su-ks trying to do my job, while at the same time I’m trying to deal with these people who work in BH. They don’t know anything, and in my position, it takes at least a year or more to train someone. I am one who is getting laid off, but I do still care about our clients. They don’t deserve this. So sad, and not necessary. Worked from home for 13 years…

I have not looked at the posting however call center agents can work from home. This is not a Nebraska thing.

These are work from home jobs for first level / low paying phone answering positions.

It's a bait and switch. Nebraska is offering lucrative tax breaks by head count. Lincoln is the preferred location as Fiserv/First Data's reputation in Omaha is so bad no one will apply.

Fiserv is desperate to get workers in Nebraska for tax break purposes. They are trying to hire low wage positions with the incentive to work remote just to employ people to meet that tax break. At one point they were hundreds of employees short needed to suffice tax break incentives. The force from Sioux Falls to Lincoln is an effort towards this as well. Beware that if they continue to struggle to fill positions in Neb and can't, they could easily just cut their losses and a place like Lincoln may not end up being a COE.

Don't trust what you read from our leaders. They can hire you as remote and quickly change their minds to require you to go to an office.
I simply don't trust what our leadership says and that includes what they put in writing.

I applied to one that was remote. Interviewed and was told that it was fully in office and the listing was a mistake. So yeah, they are trying to lure you in with the bait and switch.

Smoke and mirrors. Lure people in with the promise of flexible work and then gradually take it away until they are full time in office. They did the same thing in BH.

They have to do this for positions that really need to be filled, because otherwise they get no applicants.

You will always get mixed messages from a bag of mixed nuts. It will change day to day, week to week. Once they make up their minds for what will happen this quarter, stay tuned for the next episode because it's sure to be just as confusing as the last.

These were not sales positions, though. I read the descriptions of each one.
