8 people in CCOG under TH were laid off... an entire team of people that really did nothing but generate a lot of emails and reporting that no one was asking for.

Yeah, the newish CISO wants to hire his extended family back in India, so he is offshoring information security jobs to India.
DD team does reporting
to @qqa+1oHR1K0p... the team in question were people doing redundant reporting that was available elsewhere. they would literally forward emails and generate reports that no one was asking for.
Just a few years ago there was a big push to staff up cybersecurity. There was at least one firm-wide town hall to build interest in working in cybersecurity. WF had an agreement to pay for the NYU masters degree for any employee taking the cybersecurity program. And now we’re laying off people in that area. Did something happen, or am I misunderstanding the situation?
What is ICS and CCOG? Can I ask future OPs just to spell it out. I'll go first. I am from WFA (Wells Fargo Advisors) which is part of WIM (Wealth Investment Management). List the full name in the first post and commenters following use initials.
There are multiple executives looking for various formats of the same report and not ever willing to leverage a shared view. Now who are we kidding saying they could not be redeployed for the “Analyst” roles that are either filled by interns or offshore? If the “busy” work needs to be cut off, please cut down on fancy ppts which have zero shelf life and leverage existing centralized repositories.
And do not justify layoffs with the type of work these people were doing. Because guess what, that is what gets passed down.
What they need to downsize is the RTO reporting team. Talk about "do nothing".
There many teams like this. Entire wellsfargo India does this kind of work. U hire manager then hire another one expanding … Jokers
