Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

States with >60 days WARN notice?

NY = 90 days notice

CA = 75 days notice 9nce bill goes into effect ((original proposal was 90)

Any other states greater than 60 days WARN notice or passing bill to do so soon?

Reason for ask:
The greater the notice period, the sooner WF wants to cut employees from those states to avoid 401K match and get people severed (off the books) by Jan. 1, 2024.

@lec

Apparently you didn't read rhe "Reason for ask" section of OP's post.

OP is trying to determine if some are past obvious danger period for layoffs bc there isn't enough runway between WARN notice and Jan 1.

Seems like an understandable inquiry. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge. Many have lots of questions re: layoffs. Some of yours might seem non-sensical, too, but are quite relevant for you.

Try extending compassion and grace. This is a tough time for everyone.

Unfortunately, they are only required to issue a warn notice if 50 people or more are affected in a particular state. It seems the state that I am in they’ve been dismissing less than that in each layoff instance. We haven’t had a warn notice since 2018. 🙄

I don't know if job search helps me, H1 visa workers dominate every company I interviewed.

Even if you know, what advantage have you gained with that knowledge? Maybe spend that energy into your job or resume.

NY is the only state with a 90 day notice period. All other states are 60 days notice right now.
