Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Total rewards survey

Did anyone else that took the survey get the impression that we’re totally scrooged? My impression is we are going to pay A LOT more for our insurance, totally lose our bonus, have the company 401 k match reduced and lose PTO and holidays? I mean my benefits are a big reason why I stay and it sounds like they’re getting gutted!

I'm With you. I think they have already determined what we are getting. The things that don't actually cost a lot And people don't really want or use. Like the lifestyle account. I don't want biometrics. I don't want a lifestyle account. I don't even want more education support. Is just salary, bonus and pto... But since that is something that benefits everyone it is probably not on the table.

I tried to have a discussion about this with my leader, but she’s still drinking the koolaid. She tried to frame it as they really care about what we want. They listen to us. When I explained how it looks, she p-o pooed me until I just shut up.

Prediction time: huge RIFs by the end of the year, especially in HAH and care management. UM nurses - huge cuts. If you survive the RIFs, you won’t complain about the benefits being reduced drastically as it is evident that the company is doing what it can to cut costs.

So, who’s excited about an emergency fund?

Ok, so the Emergency Savings account was rolled out the same week the survey was emailed....not a coincidence my fellow Humana comrades. Bottom line, I believe they have already decided what benefits they are reducing/cutting. The survey is a psycological game so they can communicate it was our idea, 'blame shifting'. I could care less about a Lifestyle account. I wish they would just leave the benefits alone and stop the madness. None of the choices are desirable, it's sickening. This is how I feel after taking the survey; .....So, you are a valued Humana associate and you are going die this year. Here are 3 choices, would you rather 1) be stabbed in the abdomen with no transport availability 2) be thrown overboard with your hands tied and an anchor wrapped around your ankles or 3) tied to a tree in a marsh with hungry crocodiles.

To the poster who mentioned looking on the HI page, but not finding any information. The Rewards Survey are typically for changes that will be implemented in 2024. Communication hasn’t been sent out yet about any of the changes. The Rewards Survey provides us with possibilities of what benefits might be getting cut in the future.

@2yed+1o7rfzgW- I am not finding anything on the Hi page about VTO and the floating holiday going away. Even went to the benefits SP

If you look on Workday, starting on 1/1/24, VTO and Personal Holiday are gone, so it looks like that will already be going away. Why have us do the survey, if they already know which benefits are being cut? Such a waste of time.

As someone else said, the Emergency Savings Account was a red flag.

In the survey, they kept mentioning a Lifestyle Account. Dear Humana, no one is interested in a Lifestyle Account. Especially if a Lifestyle Account comes with a cost of a 30% bonus reduction, no salary increase, and our 401K match being reduced to 4% (which were some of the options)

What can you expect? We all know that Humana is part of the woke deep state swamp

How about Humana cut top execs bonuses in lieu of cutting benefits of the real people running the company? These VPs and above are so out of touch and still roll in millions in bonuses. It’s sickening!

Looks like that’s where they are doing more budget cuts. Losing benefits vs layoffs.

Is the emergency savings account to be in lieu of severance? JK

Emergency savings account! That was a red flag. I am afraid to find out how bad benefits will be cut.

The survey is a joke, I don't want any benefits reduced. How about doing away with yearly bonus since the government gets about 1/2 anyway and leave the rest of our benefits alone. Also having BCBS now as a Humana employee is a joke. You can't get in touch with anyone, it's not the true BCBS is the reason we can't just log on to their website to assess our benefits, Accolade is a joke and not helpful at all and claims are process by 3rd party vendor. Humana is bleeding money: probably through all the Centerwell physician offices and they want the rest of us peons to pay for their sc--w ups! Humana is a joke of an employer that doesn't care about us at all! Committee email my hiney!

The benefits that appear the most in the questions are likely to be reduced or eliminated. 401K Match, PTO. AIP Bonus. The company line will be associates liked the idea of a “Lifestyle” account, whatever that turns out to be. To fund the account, the money from reducing the 401K match, reduction of PTO and reducing AIP was used to pay for this wonderful exciting new benefit.

Think about how benefits have been eliminated and/or reduced since the last benefits refresh survey. Service awards gone, PTO bank max reduced by 80 hours, BCBS cr-ppy insurance has doubled or tripled medication costs. A once great employee friendly company is being dismantled before our eyes.

I got the same impression as well. Typically, I disregard the surveys, because I don’t feel like they are 100% anonymous and can be traced back to you somehow, so I avoid them. But I decided to take it this time, and I tried my hardest to pick the less evil option, but they were all horrible.

If you haven’t taken it, please do so. The options are things like: “Would you rather have you PTO allotments reduced?” / “What you rather the 401K match be reduced to 4%” / “Would you rather lose 2 paid holidays?” / “Would you rather pay more in premium and deductibles?” / “Would you rather receive no bonus, but a 4% salary increase?”

I mean… the options are so insane. I get the feeling they are trying to cut a huge benefit, or perhaps multiple benefits, all in the guise of, “The employees wanted it” or “It’s for the betterment of the company. Health First!”
