Thread regarding CVS layoffs

More than 5000?

Does anyone else feel like they may be cutting more than 5000?

Truly believe hitting the 5k is not as important as hitting the $800M cost-cutting target.

The amount of stuff posted here that is so ridiculously incorrect is enjoyable. Just stuff like Aetna only has 10k employees... uh yeah no.

5000 and some change. It’s awful but the entire country is laying off. Not just CVS

Aetna is only 10k employees, so no “most” are not Aetna

So your 5000 is now 30000 interesting. Gonna be higher with $1.50 a share loss today alone and more to come because the company is now under investigation in several states for violating State laws OH, FL, GA, NC, AL, RI, CT

I work on the Aetna side. Lots of folks laid off yesterday but no one in my department…yet. However, effective immediately, we’re merging with another department as part of some restructuring initiative.

I was told by someone who would know that in the end the layoffs will amount to 6-7% of the enterprise workforce.

Yes! Hence why the original email said “approximately 5000”.

Yes it does. Most will happen on Aetna side, that is why. So it’s not 5000 of the 300,000 plus CVS employees. Smaller group = higher percentage chance of impact.
