RTO disrupts babysitting, mowing the lawn, FaceTiming with family, cooking dinner, doing laundry, napping, watching the view and so many other things important to me…I will not RTO.

Go to the executive announcements page on the Insider site. A bunch of new people being brought in for “leadership” roles from the outside (what’s the deal with not stating their level, VP, EVP, or whatever?). Forget about working your way to the top, especially since they only expect new hires to stay 5yrs max.
Several newly promoted Directors got the ax. But those recently “promoted” from craft, I really hate it for them. Going from 2yrs to 6mo severance has to be a tough pill to swallow and it’s wrong on so many levels! I would say T should honor some sort of contract with them, but look how they did MR75 eligible management benefits. They hv no shame.
Boo hoo...
The gravy train is finally over.
For a few years I had to listen to how awesome it was to chill at the house and put in a couple hours of work each day. Yall were doing chores, playing video games and catching up on your shows.
Back to work, boys!

Bingo, it’s a JOB. That’s all it is to me. I used to try and climb the ladder, go above and beyond, but that kind of gets beat out of you when you don’t see the fruits of your labor resulting in a promotion, extra bonus or higher pay time and time again and you see people advance that came after you. The ones that makes everyone scratch their heads about, nothing to show, no street credibility and no big accomplishments that anyone can point to. Idk. Same as it ever was I guess. Tale as old as time. I tell my kids now it’s not what you know it’s who you know. Develop those social skills because that’s all that really matters anymore. Hard work and good results just gives you more work for the same pay.
I have seen many unintelligent folks be successful because they have social skills. It is weird. AT&T has many examples of this. It would be a fun exercise if 130 Billion Dollars was not in play.
never another minute past 8 hrs, account can be on fire but it can wait until 9am the next day...or whenever , let the escalations flow like honey to the "manages", they can handle it ALL in off hours
you pro RTO can su-k my d ck...won't collaborate with you, won't give you the time of day, hope you can figure out these systems
WFH folks need to start acting like employable adults.
I don't want to come into the office and actually have to work either. Rather slack off at home but I need the pay.
People are working 40 hours now. Many used to work more, skip lunch etc. They are no longer doing that. Someone tried to schedule a call at 5 and it was declined by everyone saying that’s past their work time and interferes with their commute. You got them in and delivering for 40 hours which is 5-20 hours less than they were giving. Good job again Stanky. Big win.

I learned about this in the craft world. Bust my butt, suggest changes, and being there for outages. The slackers who were present for straight 8s got paid the same and even got seniority over me for time off. F it.

Yep definitely not fun having to RTO. You don’t realize how much things change and the stress level rises until you have to go to an office everyday. All those little things you used to do between calls or on your little lunch break like switch a load of laundry, unload the dishwasher, prep a meal, see your kids come home from school. I didn’t mind working some extra hours as a result and was generally happier. Now though, my laptop comes out the car, gets thrown in the corner and I don’t look at it until I’m back in office the next day. I don’t check emails and turn off my cou the second I leave the office. I start work when I get to the temp desk at the office everyday and I turn it off the second it’s 5pm. I am doing a whole bunch less and generally don’t care to.
I don't log in until 8:00 am, I log out at 5:00 pm. COU phone doesn't even get looked at after hours. The phone company will be there tomorrow. Same as it always has.

I won't lie. It has been somewhat satisfying to see a few pain in the a-s techs take a "promotion" into management to be a MSOC coach. They were furious little irritants for the last year they were on payroll. None of them are with the company anymore.
As Martha Stewart would say; That's a good thing.
“Wow. Looks like we have some military Marines here who are so smart. Let’s not try and be a company ranked a great place to work. Let’s insult and feel since they moved out of mom’s basement they are superior. Probably proud of their MSOC numbers they replaced on their refrigerator over their kids artwork. Semi fi! Or aspire to tell their managers they want to be like them?”
WTF ?

A friend of mine who was a PM & laid off 5 years ago now works for a pharma company. Her words - AT&T is the most toxic, disgusting inept company to work for. I never realized how bad it was until I went somewhere else & wasn't treated like yesterday's trash.
Wake up folks.

Don’t worry dude keep trying! Maybe someday you will make sense and say something intelligent.

“ Don’t like it, leave”. Sounds like another a$$ kissing yes manager at AT&T. Stinky and Randell would be so proud!”
Sounds like someone that couldn’t find a job outside T. Back to your moms basement please…

“ Work Life Balance + RTO = Low Productivity”
Oh well, don’t like it leave. Wait you don’t have relevant transferable skills outside these walls ? Yeah ,keep complaining….
I was speaking with a friend who was raving how much she loves her job because she’s has a manager who is kind and cares about her. He allows her flexibility with her schedule to attend family and personal appointments. They celebrate monthly accomplishments and want employees to grow in skills while on the job.
I just sat there silent because we all know nothing like any of this is happening at AT&T.
We don’t allow flexibility and look to start disciplinary actions if you think your families come first. We won’t train you to perform your job because it’s called read the dated vague job aid or “on the job”: All professional development is on your own time after the stressful work day. We turn a blind eye to unethical behaviors to make our numbers and have a whole $5.00 per year per employee to celebrate we made it another year.
Is it me?
AT&T cares about the environment so your jobs must go as AI is smarter and greener than all of you and is the future of this great company.
cool, my job can be done from anywhere (sitting on the beach)
oh cr-p, my job can be done from anywhere (surprised when outsourced)
Leadership does not care. This is about worker reduction, and tax incentives from real estate holdings. This has nothing to do with production, collaboration, or morale. ATT is not a family company or a people’s company they are beholden to WallStreet. They C-Suite are highly paid puppets. We the employee are just a means to an end. The longer you are here the more disillusioned you get. Younger workforce hasn’t had their rose tinted glasses knocked from their faces yet.
The end answer will always be, WTF.
