Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Mental health

I feel like it's been tanking this year. Things seem worse month after month with no light at the end of the tunnel. Management makes things worse when they don't need to be by dragging us into an office to do the EXACT SAME THING we do from home, which proved successful for two years. Why are they doing this? Are the higher grocery and gas prices not enough to damage out wallets and stress us out that they feel its their obligation to add the cherry on top of commute plus parking expenses that ADD ZERO VALUE? what is it? What could it be? Are we the slaves who are responsible for carrying the CRE obligations of the country? You think my inflated $20.67 cheeseburger and $12.00 parking per day is helping keeping things moving along? I digress.

there are zero attractive people at the office. who is doing all of the hiring and why are they only hiring graduates of Shrek university? at least give me people to crush on and motivate me to come in, not these groggy overweight bf's who want to escape their own homes at any cost.

It means the people making the decisions are doing so from a position of ignorance that is shockingly bad. They got here 5 minutes ago, and act like it. Fortunately, those people also happen to be very temporary themselves, so the best we can do is call it out for what it is and then weather the storm of their stupidity. What's not going to solve anything is cheerleading their failed approach. I'm not 'accepting' anything. I'm also not enforcing such stupidity. It's not part of my current role and I won't be moving to one where it is because it's morally repulsive and will negatively impact the business. F Hudson Yards, every last one of them.

OMFG - did @1rhq write "I was here first"? What does that have to do with the price of rice in China my non binary friend (3 options)?

"Your (righteous) indignation is only hurting you"

Please tell me your job has nothing to do with risk, because you can't see it. Intentionally creating thousands of disgruntled people in your own organization for no benefit will fail. It's just a matter of time and how badly. There's no way that their strategy can succeed, and it won't.

There's a third option. Stay and don't accept their horsesh-t decisions, because they are temporary. Shart will be here 2 more years tops. F him, F his BS decisions, and F his bootlicking lackies. I was here first and I really don't care what he says or thinks. I'll continue to resist by any means available before his policies are detrimental to the business and the employees. You can keep cheerleading this decades version of "8 is Great". I will not. Not now, not ever.

Yeah your situation su-ks. But things change and they always have. If you can’t control the situation, stop worrying about it. You do have to make a decision faced with the facts of your situation: stay here and accept the situation or leave where the situation suits you better. Those are your choices. If you choose to stay and hate it, that actually is you making the choice to put yourself in that situation. And it’s your choice to be miserable and angry about it. Your (righteous) indignation is only hurting you. Chainsaw and co don’t know you and certainly don’t care about your feelings. Don’t give them the power in your life to dictate if you are happy or not.

Corporations get tax breaks if occupancy rate is above a specific threshold. It's local government's way to influence spending. For example, if we are all in the office we are buying gas, lunch, clothes, etc.

Management doesn't care about you or anyone else. This is all designed to get you to leave. OP, look for a WFH job. Bank won't change for a long time, while the asset cap is still there with the same CEO.

I wouldn't suggest EAP. Never trust employer to be a one-stop shop. Find your own private ways to better your health.

Of course if you hit this low, quitting is really the best option. WF will not make any accommodations to improve your well being and will take advantage of your complacency.

WF workers need to be incredibly selfish to survive, sacrifice nothing for the company.

ESFO&D. I was WFH for years before COVID. I specifically targeted a role that allowed for it, got another degree and two certs to make it all happen. Those some worthless pieces of sh-t in NYC decided that instead I should drive to a building with no peers, directs, or manager for no reason. F him and F you too.

My solution to WF trying to cause me mental health issues is apathy over anything WF cares about.

Did you complain this much pre 2020? If you don’t like it find another job that is remote. All this RTO whining sounds like spoiled children. Get over it. And eat something healthier than a cheeseburger.
