I know they will justify less benefits or layoffs as a result of this controversy.

That is sooooooo true...

Just curious, who remembers being told there were aerial lead cables at contingency OPS training. Anyone? Oh that's right, it's not mentioned, even though they know all about it.
Before it was used to sheath cable, lead was in the ground and mined. It is still in the ground as cable sheath. It didn’t magically become a health concern when it was made into cable sheath.
I read the WSJ article and believe we’ve made more hype than the damage it created. It will cost some money to clean up but it’s not in our ground water and just a couple inch of dirt. I’m more suspicious of the timing. Maybe to distract the public or employees from the “where we work sla-ghtering?” Or volume of jobs being sent to non employees?
Politicians never miss an opportunity to act like they are concerned to get in the news. Surely you know they are concerned when it’s only in their best interest. Gold diggers have nothing on them, they’d shank their own family if it means getting re-elected. Promise the world and deliver nothing most times.
Just found this article on the issue: https://blog.techstaffer.com/att-and-verizons-ancient-lead-cables-have-us-lawmakers-demanding-action
You really think this won't affect us? Incoming benefits cut if you ask me...
Really ancient news. No worries, this is a decade or more issue to resolve. Not an immediate issue, the government agencies have regulated and known about this since the 1880’s.
AT&T screwing employees again? Wouldn't surprise me...
Of course we are going to have to foot the bill for this
