Do you think Wells will start the Hub location strategy again?
I’ve noticed a lot of layoffs in areas that are not in their prime locations.
I am not in a hub location technically but there are major corporate offices in my city. The Hub strategy is dangerous in my opinion.
For example, in Charlotte they are selling one of their main locations. There is not enough room in Charlotte for all of the employees to transfer there. The cost of living is also high (in my opinion) in Charlotte. The median home price is 380k. If you are single and not making a great salary you will be forced to rent there but the one bedroom apartments are starting at 1800 and up. I don’t know how some wells employees make it there when they are not making a competitive salary to combat inflation.
NYC is out of the question unless you are making an executive salary.
If you look at the careers center, they are only posting a few positions in hub locations only. No remote roles.
Thoughts ?
