Curious if Vets have any job safety with all these layoffs?

The word does not suggest that the person was an active participant in combat, simply that they served in the military. Hence the phrase "combat vet" to distinguish those that have done so. No vets using the title are making false claims or inflating the relevance of their contribution.
In any event, what you fail to understand is that when you sign up to join you have no idea if there will be a war you'll be involved in or not. Many thousands of people joined in 1999 or 2000, with no clue whether they were in for 4 years of relative peace time (like the preceding 4 years) or 4 years of WW3. As it turned out they got something in the middle, with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

You sound like you know alllll about what it's like being on active duty. Your disdain for the real work that is required to maintain a professional army is apparent. If there's a silver lining in the sh-t, it's that bullets/fragmentation don't care if you're an elitist snob or not.

Having a professional army saves untold numbers of lives when a war does kick off and you have a well trained/equipped force to deploy. Just throwing a bunch of guys at the enemy that have no idea what they are doing or how to use our military technology proficiently is a recipe for disaster.

No one is asking for free stuff here, and vets aren't getting any special treatment when it comes to terms. Why don't you go ahead and show us on the doll where the bad vet touched you?

They will no more keep nor target Veteran Employees as compared to any other class for employment. There are benefits employers get from local and federal Governments by employing Veterans but the gains do not outweigh any losses incurred by keeping a position filled by someone who doesn’t fulfill a need.
If they were to target Vets it would generate a lawsuit just like targeting any other class of employee. There is no more or less risk being a Vet at Wells.
Everywhere I have been, H1B visa is the only protection against layoffs.

It makes no difference. I'm sure HR looks at race, because firing "the wrong people" can lead to a lawsuit and political grandstanding, but otherwise there are no protected classes in terms.
Why would you think your military vet status would protect you more than your fellow employees who are not military vets??
