Wells Fargo, norwest, Wachovia, and all other banks are awful.
But regardless, this is some revisionist history. Di-k K kicked off the rampant cross-selling himself at norwest, “going for gr-eight” and “eight is great” were all under his watch. Branches were stores, bankers were sales people. Stumpf might have been an id--t (and also from Norwest), but Di-k K was the mastermind of the 2016-current debacle of intense regulatory scrutiny.
So yea, great CEO, real leader, loved his people, sure.
Back to NH, when is the last time anyone heard someone say something positive about him?
Maybe control will actually be able to write controls now. Gotta love it when you change titles from business risk managers to business control managers but never train them to actually do that role. The control groups under N8 saw a massive exodus recently, right before layoffs and more are coming.

Right, so you obviously can read. I said "Leadership". I have worked with a ton of frontline, second line people that are fantastic from Wachovia. I haven't met a person in "Leadership" that is a great leader. The one's I've had the pleasure of dealing with were too busy trying to justify their existence in the company and they dropped the ball. They were angry leaders who were never wrong. Sound familiar? And yes, I am Norwest/WF Legacy and damn proud of what we used to be. There isn't a person I know in the company that's proud of what we've become. Di-k K. was a fantastic CEO who loved his team members (not employees). We used to have a saying; PACA - People As a Competitive Advantage, and he lived it. His "Leadership" team lived it.
Right, so CIB, which Kiker has always worked in, is definitely a root cause of all the problems in the consumer businesses on the other side of the company that have given rise to nearly all of our regulatory scrutiny.
You are an either a legacy wells/norwest person who is in denial about where this started, or one of the people who just love to hate on the Wachovia contingent because it’s associated with CLT. Either way, painting thousands of employees with the same brush makes little sense.
For those that don't know. Kiker is a Wachovia leftover that should have been purged with all other Wachovia leadership. People speculate why we can never get out of this government oversight....it's because the former Wachovia leadership was/is awful and they are the turds that just won't flush. The government can't trust them given how they ran Wachovia.
According to the news release, he was known for developing a strong leadership team. If true, why didn’t they promote one of his strong leaders, instead they went outside the team.
NH was toxic and the position they gave him let him damage Wells and its people with impunity. Gwen is the same and has proven to be nothing short of a destructive hurricane. Her policies and processes have turned RCSA into a financial sinkhole, depleting resources and diminishing morale. Her bullying tactics and dismissive treatment of others is not only inappropriate, but also creates an atmosphere of fear and inhibits meaningful, productive engagemen. She shows no respect for people or the organisation. And it is not just about productivity. her attitude is actively corrosive, persistently undermining the collective efforts of everyone involved and the overarching mission of the company. She needs to go.
Poor Kiker, clearly got tapped on the shoulder and told he had to take this BS job and fix Nate’s repeated sc--w ups. Good news is that he’s actually competent.
Worried what this means for CIB without him, but assume Langley is basically interim until some more changes come in the next year plus.

I think she is liked by DF since they were both in SEO but how can they not see how bad she is? Dont get me going about the ENGIn "integration".
Steve Kiker is smart, focused and legit gets things done. Not warm and fuzzy at first, but when you get to know him, he is a good, decent guy. This is a massive upgrade.
Anyone else concerned the new guy has ZERO consumer experience? I’d estimate 80% of the problems are located there. Zero prior interaction with the CFPB? I see that as problematic.

Kiker is good, very smart and gets stuff done. Not terribly friendly or personable, but a big step up IMO

But working together over the next several weeks to transition? Maybe he got a better offer….
he's in his 40s so if he's leaving to spend more time with his family then someone is terribly ill.

@bgc Kiker is the COO of CIB and has been over there for years. He is not warm and fuzzy BUT he actually has accomplished stuff so it is a major upgrade. At least he understands the business.
I’m personally loving it, that he didn’t elevate anybody from within the control organization. Think about what that means to those control executives and the message that sent. NH let them do anything that they wanted and I am really looking forward to change.
uh when your boss says it is effective immediately and its to "spend more time with your family" you got fired. Kiker is about as warm and fuzzy himself so there will not be much of a change.
Does anyone know anything about Kiker? Curious if he’s really going to be an upgrade.
Not gonna lie....I'm kind of shocked. Giddy and happy that he's leaving, but shocked. I have a feeling this wasn't his choice though. He doesn't seem like the type of person to walk away from a job. I get the feeling we will learn more about this at a later time.
