Preposterous? Insulting? Impudent? Arrogant? Clueless??
I’m not pro or against unions, just want to point out how (ridiculous/fill in the blank) Well’s Fargo’s “counter-argument” is to employees organizing.
Charlie comes in and immediately launches a ruthless action plan against employees:
- Laying off large numbers of employees
- Offshoring jobs to India and the Philippines
- Stack ranking
- Devaluing roles
- Forcing employees to compete with outside applicants for well-earned promotions in their own departments
- Expecting many exempt employees to work far more than 40 hours per week
- Reducing employee benefits, such as the changes around the 401K match.
- Mandating employees to use their earned PTO to satisfy the two-week RA
- Ruling with a “Do as I say, not as I do” iron fist.
- Aggressive cost-cutting while paying himself 300 times the average employee.
- Requiring employees to work in increasingly uncomfortable, often unclean, work spaces
- Short-staffing departments
And then…Charlie has the (audacity/fill in the blank) to respond to the threat of employees unionizing with:
“Wells Fargo believes our employees are best served by working directly with the company and its leadership to address matters of concern.”
What??? Giant middle finger to you, Charlie!!
