I've heard that changes are coming l coming for remote only employees in August, but no one has details. Has anyone heard specifics? Are we being forced to drive 2 hours to the nearest office, or are we just getting the ax?

Wells Fargo, where you are forced to get an approved excuse from a medical doctor in order to work efficiently and not destroy the environment.
lol ok. you obviously have no understanding of UW if you think india can do it all.

It IS absolutely true.

Yes. 100% true. It’s been in the works for some time due to UW requirements. The go signal has been given. Imagine YOUR mortgage decision in the hands of India. Awful! It’s one bad decision after another. WF will implode eventually.
no that’s not true
I heard India will be taking over underwriting, anyone else hear this?
@inj+1nlxSidu - many of the remote technology workers have skills that are unique and/or based on legacy system needs.....that are critical to WF! WF has been seeking people to fill these roles for over 8 years when WF realized that the people in these roles are retiring en mass. STFU unless YOU have these skills and if possible think about something beyond your infinitely tiny self absorbed world.
Interested to see if my manager is affected (remote with no medical waiver)
Astounding how many don't realize there are many types of disabilities. Some are invisible, but no less valid.
I'm sure those with valid MAs would rather have no disability and RTO than WFH. Try having some compassion.
I’m aware of PIP’s going out to zero in office day offenders. Can’t lay off otherwise you can’t backfill.

Yeah, it's a goal, and like every other goal these mo--ns in Hudson Yards come up with, they will fall short. We will win the Great RTO War. One way or another. It's a failed and archaic policy. They will abandon it or the company will eventually fail. There's no middle option for these buggy whip loving "leaders".
Just because you were hired remote does not mean the company can not change their mind and force you to RTO. Remote work is now history. Wells Fargo is forcing everyone back to office c they will re review all medical accommodations. They can give you an accommodation in an office. The goal is 5 days 100 percent back in office
F everyone at Hudson Yards for doing this to us. Seriously, the best thing that could ever happen to WF is every one of those masochist POSs to get fired.
The economics of the situation and the preferences of the workers will never change. Many of us won't see the end of the RTO war, but it will end and we will be victorious.

What business group or work type are you in?
My team was hit yesterday. Six of nine were displaced and reasoning was regarding their 100% remote schedules.
I truly believe it's decided by manager ...if they REALLY like you--I have a feeling some remote workers will remain remote.
One more thing...its true about running out of open seating space. Lots of LOBs that are strict with the 3x per week are "squatters" - basically claiming the cube as if it's assigned to them.... so as a way to stay outta trouble, if possible just swipe the badge and go back home!
For those of you wishing all the remote employees would be laid off, go check which states actually have the highest number of remote employees. You can check by the groups in workday.
Here's a hint: It isn't California or New York, so you'll be taking a bigger hit than they will.
default for medical accomodations has been WFH, but they will start re reviewing to assess if other in office accomodations will work. legally they just have to accommodate, that accomodations doesn't necessarily have to be WFH, perhaps it's an extra wide chair
It's hard to "RTO like the rest of us" when you aren't anywhere near an office and were hired as remote only from the beginning. If I had an office to go to, I would. Wouldn't be happy about it, though.
I've done my job well, gotten great performance reviews, and been promoted over the last 10 years working right from my own home. RTO is about control. Let people have better work/life balance, reduce harmful emissions, and improve traffic by letting us work remotely.
People with medical disabilities can go into an office. The company makes accommodations. Give me a break! RTO like the rest of us
"Fire all the remote losers"
Are you prepared to do all our work? Firing us might feel good to you, but it would come at a cost, like your having to absorb the work. And, you know, the whole bank collapsing.
I guess you need more DEI training to learn to be more compassionate.
You also need to learn how to look at org charts. There is NO way to know which remotes are medical accommodations, since there are also those outside of commutable hubs and others with special exceptions.
Stop focusing on others and focus on yourself. And get a heart while you're at it.
No remote or hybrids anymore. Everyone RTO. They are hoping to ax people.
Of course they are getting ready to ax thousands. That is the Charlie way
Bitter Much?
Fire all the remote losers
I heard they are starting with the people that moved during the pandemic without manager or HR approvals. Probably a smaller, more manageable number of employees.
They would have to fire most of some teams then and I don’t see that happening. Also no way they have the office space to bring everyone in. There are more people w remote exceptions than you think.
Not for all remote employees across the enterprise. I believe there are over 20,000 employees who are tagged as Remote. That number doesn’t differentiate within hub, outside of hun or medical accommodation.
WF is not capable of handling this amount of displacements at once. Not even close.
There will always be exceptions. They're just getting tougher.
Bend over and touch your toes. Chucky is coming for you.
Someone on my team was just approved for remote. Sounds like another rumor
The threat to remote workers has been out there for several years, even pre Covid. I'm one of those who will be affected. It's just one more unnecessary stress.
If you're going to do it, stop talking about it, and just f***ing do it!
The cancelling of Remote Only unless HR approved is mainly a technology thing. Business will be allowed to do whatever they want.
If only true ADA HR approved accommodations are out there. Just scanning some of these org charts. There appears to be a metric sh$t ton of people with ailments.
I believe this. Buddy of mine in Corp. Risk had to get his Remote work approved by a direct report of Derek Flowers. My friend had been remote for years. It was approved but it was touch and go for a while. HR involved.
Sounds like a bs rumor
That's a lot of severance...
I have heard from my manager that all Remote Only employees will have to provide documentation and go through HR to remain. Only documented and accepted medical reasons will be allowed. The review will be region by region. No timeline on when this will complete.
Would prepare for that possibility. Getting the ax. In mortgage yesterday they seemed to be getting rid of some people who were not near a hub.
