Fortune: Forced return to office is definition of insanity

Headline: The forced return to the office is the definition of insanity.

I agree mgt s/instead use structured mentoring to address "gap" they claim.

If you can't return to the office. Stop shopping in person. Keep your kids home too. COVID is over and time to get back to preCovid times. What in the he-l is wrong with people? Don't like it? Find a new job!

RTO makes sense if:

  • -Individuals enjoy working for a company

RTO doesn't make sense if:

  • -Individuals do not enjoy working for a company

For most of us scorn and damaged WF workers, being anti-RTO is about self care. The company that has been very clear they do not care about us at all.

While blame can be shared to some degree, ultimately WF evolved over many many years into a toxic system/culture where the only recourse for its workers is to be in constant fight-or-flight mode. We have to protect ourselves at all costs, whether financially, mentally and/or physically.

For those choosing to stay at WF despite this reality, no judgement. We all have our reasons.

If there was any positive benefit to doing it, some would support RTO. But since there isn't, here we are. Certain teams have to be distributed geographically. No sense in them going to a building to get on teams, outlook and the phone. It's monumentally stupid/expensive and unnecessarily introduces all kinds of risk, and those in the ivory tower know it. Clearly the entire purpose is to torment good people, and for that HY can F off.

Forced RTO wouldn’t be so back if they weren’t going out of their way to make it so miserable when you get there.

I’m old enough to remember what it felt like being a school boy. Wells Fargo is no different than a fu----g k-12 public school classroom. Imagine being a babysitter for a living. Cc: all managers.

And then for every one of these articles there's another article talking about the benefits of RTO.

The end result is that neither one is not a one size fits all strategy. Some can work from home and some shouldn't.
