When the goal is to reduce headcount by 40% from 2020 figures, people quitting without severance is actually a cost-saving benefit from the executive standpoint. It's like a "Pay one (severance), get one free (resignation)" situation for them.

The execs read this article and laugh like the Emperor when Luke beat down Vader.

Their entire schtick is crapping on employees, crashing morale, and encouraging people to voluntarily quit so severance costs are minimized.

Can anyone provide information on whether Wells or other banks are implementing the following measures to mitigate the negative impact of layoffs:

  1. Reducing non-personnel costs,
  2. Offering furloughs, and
  3. Requesting voluntary resignations?

To my knowledge, the answer is no.

No one wants to deal with the sh*t show left after the fact. You are either given more work to do, or become responsible for redoing work done by someone else.
