We are preparing for the next non-hub layoff. Outside of San Fran? Remote in MN? St-----g it in Colorado Springs? Think you’re safe in Winston Salem? Watch yourselves. I have no proof other than teams preparing.

Btw if you check job postings that’s kind of telling which locations are hubs I would guess. Chandler and Charlotte has 100s of postings while Minneapolis and Concord only have a few.
If concord goes away I will meet that bullet point checklist for non hub.
I vaguely remember hearing some "as the crow flies" bullsh-t before. If it's "as the crow flies," it should be stated in the policy.
@vxx+1nWjfqN1 Trying to “qualify” for those conditions is a joke. I met all of them by any objective standard. Showed my boss Google AND Apple Maps but they said nope, don’t meet conditions! They calculate distance “as the crow flies” which I asked how the he-l would that be commutable?!
I mean, the commute would be a breeze if I could just beam myself around but I guess tech will get on that as soon as they find those missing deposits.
Good luck getting your boss to use common sense.
"God I hope it’s concord that goes away- please!!!! "
if they shut down concord, you'll be required to go to one of the other east bay locations or to SF. No severance for you!
Enterprise has a list of go forward markets.
Each OC leader can choose which subset they will operate in. Then they need to get to 90%+ in their selected hub markets in a specific timeframe.
The levers are attrition, hiring restrictions and displacements (of course).
HR has made their choices public with the layoff that happened last week. Others have not yet. This is HR "leading the way" by going first.
God I hope it’s concord that goes away- please!!!! I want that sabbatical 😊
Thanks @cev+1nWjfqN1 - just looked it up.
ALL of the following must apply:
- Distance between previous and new work locations must exceed 20 miles (one way).
- The commute (home to new work) is longer than previous commute (in miles).
- The new commute exceeds 40 miles (one way).
Hyderabad and Hudson Yards.
If Winston-Salem is on the chopping block then the recent cancellation of the move of all employees from WEC to the Tower building makes sense.
Big “IF” of course.
"How far away does your current site have to be from a hub to get severance?"
More than 40 miles, but the logic is complicated. Look at Teamworks.
How far away does your current site have to be from a hub to get severance? Will be meeting with a recruiter soon but will hold off if I can get a sabbatical.
What are the final hub cities? I’ve heard the list has changed recently.
In the name of candor, there should be a chart that outlines each location (incl. remote, except for those w/medical accomodations) and the plan for those working there. Period. This nonsense from leadership is pathetic.
thanks for the down votes. i said i had no proof but what i do have is managers talking and preparing with cross-training. nobody has definitively come to me and said so and so date. but when you know a skirmish is brewing you know it. you do not necessarily need to hear it from your 3 and 4 down.
Is this for the 8/22 displacement date?
I've been told that those who are not coming in to their assigned locations are being "forced to retire" which tells me they get no severance. Any truth to this?
I guess the trick is, what's an "approved location"?
Bring it!!
Pick me already!!!!!
plz be all of Cedar Rapids!!!!
Cut me loose now. Please add Des Moines to the list. So board but can’t resist the easy paycheck. I am the only one from my team here anyways.
Are you saying SF staying or going? Is Concord affected?
End of 2024? We are mid year 2023? A lot can change by then.
Stop teasing me!
Make it happen, already.
Yes if you are not in an approved location and or remote you can expect to be gone by Dec 2024. If u have friends in HR ask, they know and will see cuts in their teams next Tuesday. Just watch.
you could’ve stopped your last sentence after “i have no proof”
Let me guess 8/8?
I have recently been hearing rumors of shutting down Winston-Salem in 2024. One source is in CPG.
I hope tech is affected
What departments? Or are you suggesting every single employee in a non-hub location will be laid off?
This is legit. Heard today from HR. Remote and non hub locations will be gone by end of 2024.
Hope so. So much dead wood to cut.
So, for the 26th time?
