Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo's values and vision is a joke.

Wells Fargo's recent approach to laying off employees has highlighted a disturbing lack of empathy within the organization. Instead of handling the workforce reduction with sensitivity and understanding, the company seems to have prioritized cost-cutting over the well-being of its employees. This has left many workers feeling disposable and undervalued, exacerbating the emotional toll of losing their jobs. Empathy is crucial during such challenging times, as it helps foster a supportive environment for those affected, allowing them to transition more smoothly. Unfortunately, Wells Fargo's actions have underscored the need for a more compassionate and human-centric approach to corporate decision-making, where the welfare of employees remains a top priority.

When Charlie said “ I thought I was in a cult when I heard everyone use the term teammate.” That told you all you needed to know about him and how he valued employees.

The current values are … the leaders get richer as they rob and steal everything from this company.

They’ll be off to their new victims a couple years and all the metaphorical copper pipe and valuables will be long gone. I feel feel sorry for anyone showing WF pride at this point.

We no longer have vision and values. Charlie threw that in the shredder when he came in.

Compassion and thoughtfulness wouldn't drive the layoff survivors to quit, so of course they aren't going to do it.

As far as Shart goes, I hope he is miserable. F him. This is what he gets for trying his best to destroy the company. FRTO and F Hudson Yards.

OP is crying over the absence of a participation trophy. Employees let go at WF are treated far more “compassionately” than they would be at a smaller company. 60 days notice + paid out accrued PTO and severance that includes healthcare. Sorry, this isn’t a bottom of the barrel situation. OP should go work for the government, a nonprofit, George Soros or just shut up!

Bahahaha! The bank that fired over 5,000 bankers who couldn't meet unrealistic sales goals and paid millions in fines, is concerned about employees's feelings and welfare?!? Bahahaha! Bahahahaa!!

I don't think even the CEO is happy. Did you see the transcript of his call with reporters after the quarterly earnings a week or two ago? He was furious and Santomassimo had to step in at one point because Charlie didn't even want to answer questions without just yelling at the reporters.

So I think he's just miserable and taking it out on everyone below him, all the way down.

Tech work is awful and never was good at the bank. Maybe a few are truly happy, the cream on top and old timers who support a niche app/system that they are hanging on to until they retire.

I would agree it used to be great. I used to have so many opportunities to learn through training classes, shadowing, traveling, etc. used to get meaningful reviews and feedback. Used to receive meaningful recognition. Used to have managers that cared about me as a person. I used to actually enjoy going into the office and I’m an introvert. I used to like to do things with my coworkers or employees in off site meetups occasionally.

I used to want to grow, do well for my managers, and push my performance. I’d look at job families and research where life may take me next here.

I used to be proud and happy to work here. I used to recommend this place to others.

Now everything is so different it feels like a completely different company that I’ve grown out of. Everything continues to change for employees in the worst ways and it’s sad to see. There are little opportunities, terrible management at every level, no transparency into other roles and associated pay. No actual incentives to push performance. No real feedback or performance reviews. Most people seem miserable and are just going through the motions. There’s only so long a person can expend their energy on something that doesn’t give much, if anything, in return.

Well, that's what got the company in it's current problem: too many employees. The old guard never got rid of people. So, instead of investing into technology or other business needs, they just kept hiring people.

@dri+1nNHBqVu actually, WF was a great place to work....a couple of years ago. Now this mgmt team has beaten us up so badly by reducing head count, small merit increases and forcing RTO. Charlie can kiss my a$$ as i quietly quit

Wells Fargo has never been a great place to work. Everything posted on this site is recognition of the many symptoms resulting from a larger issue: our relationship with money. The only way to manage an existence here is to put some blinders on and daydream about other things.
