Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

And yet, MORE "simplified" in-office expectations...

"Beginning Tuesday, September 5, all technology employees - regardless of team or role - will be expected to work in a wells fargo facility a minimum of three days per week."

This is all for your convenience and so you can collaborate...

They don't think you believe it, in fact they are banking on plebes NOT buying their lies. That's the only way their policies can push voluntary attrition to any relevant degree. Only bald faced lies, hypocrisy, and indignities can reduce those severance costs, so that's what they are doing.

Right. I can collaborate more with people in other physical locations, like I do right now working from home. I can work in an empty building or my comfortable home. I can lose 3 hours per day commuting. Heck people in the same building work on different floors and won’t leave their desks. TK thinks we are all mo--ns and buying the cr-p she is selling.

They have access to time in when rto’ing but it is the group/manager determines what they actually track. Some groups are just tracking badge in while others monitor badge in and out. This place su-ks FRTO

The entire purpose is to heap so many indignities upon the plebes that they simply give up and leave without a severance. Each of us if free to do as they will, but I for one will not leave unless they pay up. F these ivory towers pieces of sh-t.

It was brought up in a recent town hall for tech that they are aware of those gaming the system with badge swipes and that goes against the purpose of RTO.

I wouldn't try it.

The best way to fight RTO is to not produce anything while in a WF building. Do your actual work at home. If anyone ever asks, and they probably won't, just tell them you were busy collaborating around the water cooler.

FRTO and the pieces of sh-t pushing it. They are temporary and we can outlast these worthless FS.

Been scanning the badge and directly heading home for quite some time.
One person on my team often shows up---tho I'm told their parking is paid.......my mgr plays d-mb about it.
Covid proved we can successfully work remote. I'm not spending 6hrs in the office--times have changed. WF could really help their image and go with WFH.

I've heard they aren't yet scanning time spent in office, just badge swipes.
Is there a manager or HR who can confirm or deny that?

I find 0 even simpler than 3

Is there a manager in the know that can say if it’s still 6 hour minimum? To the point of others… we know there will be days we can’t find a seat even though we apparently are going to be forced to go in on assigned days.

Ah, this is good:

"Scan the badge, don't find a seat, go home. "
This is my new guidance for my team. You rock @rzg.

I have team members that are new and so confused as to why I would tell them to go in to 'collaborate' with the cafeteria staff. I've been struggling with how to tell them to 'collaborate' in loud, dirty, ADA-hostile environment with nobody there.

I would be all worked up but this is so stupid and impossible to comply with. Our leadership has lost their grip on reality. Which, while concerning is starting to outweigh any amount of concern with immense entertainment value.

What desperate thing will the demand next?

Whatever Wells. You'll now get 6 hours worth of work from instead of 9, no coming in early for one off meeting or staying late for long ones, and when I'm not in the office, I'm 100% not in the office.

Tax breaks for occupancy levels is how Charlie gets paid. Cost savings and kickbacks equal bank for him, and life in cubicle jail for us. I’ve been going in 3 days a week since 2022 and collaboration is a lie they tell to goad you in the door while they shackle you to a desk.

Guessing they are trying to get more people to quit on their own. Ridiculous, esp for teams who don't have a single team member in the same location.
Scan the badge, don't find a seat, go home.
Absolute insanity.

"All employees, regardless of team or role"

Except those teams that still get an exception. Ours was extended until 2024.

So it is just another doubling down of their continued RTO blitz. The collapse of the CRE market is going to be epic. They're doing all this just to lose a limb rather than suffer being a complete quadriplegic.

Some offices are already so crammed. Good luck getting a cube because you go late after finishing all your early morning meetings!
