There were Layoffs yesterday, I can confirm a connection on LinkedIn posted that she was laid off and her last day with the company will be 8/8. She is a remote Recruiting Consultant living in California not near a hub. She said she was let go for not being near a hub. She is a fantastic person and didn't deserve to be let go like this. I know her pretty well and she'll land on her feet, but the world of recruiting is tough right now.
More than 400+ in tech control . All safe no one fired. 160 were absconding as usual.
Mortgage was axed again today
Around 40 laid off today in Charlotte
Displaced in Des Moines (COO)
Turns out it was baloney. Dont believe everything you read online folks.
There will be layoffs each week for the foreseeable future. We can now shut this site down
@xwh "ok yes my prediction of your date of death turned out to be false, but the important thing is that you will die at some point. So I'm still correct" lmao
@xwh+1nMLdIiD Move those goalposts 😂. Yeah no sh-t it didn't happen.
Non-hub and I was laid off today (COO)
Who cares if each date is precise or not. The important point is that it's happening. We can debate about the size of the iceberg another time, the key is that we're all going to be dropped in the cold north Atlantic waters soon.
For folks is Des Moines, we've been expecting big layoffs. We are all moving to the Jordan Creek campus sometime this year. The parking lot can't handle everyone and maybe neither can the building. We figured they must have big cuts in mind before we move. Sounds like that's playing out now.
@yxp+1nMLdIiD lol once again nobody claimed layoffs weren't happening, just that there's no reason to believe there's some mass layoff happening today. It's entirely the work of a single troll you guys unquestionably believe without any corroboration in the real world. Which red state were you taught critical thinking in?
OP’s wording unfortunately brings out all the tolls.
OP - if you want to be taken seriously as a reliable source - don’t treat a serious topic like a light joke.
HR is laying people off as fast as they possibly can. We've dumped 4000 people in the last 3-4 months. Then you come in here to tell us that the sky isn't falling and everything is fine. C'mon man. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean chainsaw isn't annihilating groups all across the company. It's not a rumor or a conspiracy. Use the TM search feature FFS.
That would track with the kind of treachery we'd expect from Hudson Yards. Lay off the unjabbed, wait for the jabbed to die 'suddenly' so you don't have to pay severance on them. Honestly, that's probably been the plan all along. They knew.
Can anyone share what LOB in Des Moines, was it all mortgage?
How could it be otherwise with that total POS, SP, running it? Dude is in the running for worst executive in the country. Possibly world wide.
@can+1nMLdIiD Yeah no sh-t? Nobody's denying that there are layoffs and forced attrition, but thanks for your bizarre unnecessary citation. The fact remains that the RIP guy has always been just a random anonymous troll always claiming chicken little layoffs on specific dates.
There hasn't been any independent confirmation of the layoffs today alleged here, and based on your thinking that that statement somehow logically backs up your belief, you probably are one of the butthurt Q mo--ns who believe everything you read here.
Mike Santomassimo is the CFO of the company and told investors that they will be taking a very large charge (that means spending) this year due to higher than expected severance costs since attrition wasn't as high as they had planned on. That's a fact, not "Q" rumors.
Also the employee count collapsed from 273,000 to 233,000 in the last 3 years. Again, that's facts you can see for yourself in the company's SEC reports they file under penalty of perjury, so they're true. You don't lose 40,000 employees on accident, there's layoffs on a mass scale along with the increasingly hostile employee policies to encourage quitting.
@afp+1nMLdIiD I've been seeing the same thing. It could be just coincidence since those people tended to be weaker employees anyway, but who knows in this climate.
Based on my team and a couple other friends' groups in DSM, it sounds like they were targeting people who disclosed not getting the vaccine last year. Pretty wild seeing all those handicapped parking space empty now.
I'm so sorry to all those in Des Moines and other areas who were laid off today.
We are humans, first and foremost.
Have compassion, everyone.
No one gets out of here (WF and life) unscathed.
My entire team in Des Moines let go today. In complete shambles.
OP is spot on, about 1,000 layoffs happening today all over, much of it focused on Des Moines and non hub people.
Volunteering for the golden parachute! This place is a train wreck and getting worse every month/reorg.
RIP guy was always full of sh-t. The troll-y title really should have been a tip off.
Des Moines 🌽
I can attest, we got a meeting invite this morning to notify us all that a non hub team was displaced.
Really weird that this board full of Q followers would be duped by a cryptic prediction of doom from an anonymous troll
I was told to give a name for 7/25. Displacement Operations never got back to me. My person lives to regret another day.
I think we should expect the "drip drip" layoffs - not huge movement. It's more effective to drive voluntary resignations (through random te---r).
Any DSM layoffs will not show up in Warn Notices for a day or two. That's how it's been in the past.
give it a day or two and I'm sure it will pop up
@bes+1nMLdIiD - DSM layoffs. I don't see anything on the WARN Iowa site. Do you know any other info? What teams, etc?
Massive amounts of people being cut today in Des Moines. 800+ I hear.
Yes, it's really happening. Last week we discussed all the work we have for the rest of 2023, yesterday got "the call". Told it was a business decision to reduce head count based on location, not performance. Manager read from a script.
I'm sorry, COO team member. I hate COO with a passion -- full of evil hypocrites.
COO hub (Phoenix) person gone today - got the invite a few minutes after I signed on. I work early hours. Good luck today.
I agree! I've been following this board for way too long and it seems like we hadn't heard from RIP Your Career Guy in a while. Something just feels right now....like a good friend returned from a long vacation.
