manager of managers here. I get the reporting. it does not track hours in office. Day in the office is monitored by badge swipes AND network connection.
The data probably exists somewhere but it's not being used that way - yet.

Pretty sure it is tracked for hours since I’ve seen people show up for a partial day, example 0.5. I personally stay 6 hours and have had no problems.
I am so glad I'm not dealing with this petty stupid cr-p anymore. All of this is to secure value on their commercial real estate assets.
I am just a stock holder now.
As some have said it depends on the LOB (4hrs, 6hrs, 8hrs). As well as the badge system at your location. At some you don't have to badge to get on campus, others you do. Some require you to badge into the building and out.
Also, reporting tool may be changing to provide more data.
I think this is LOB dependent. My co-workers and I were told a full day is 8 hours. Also, there have been folks on my team called out for not coming into the office the required 3 days a week. So, it is being tracked and looked at, at least in some LOBs.
If you think they aren’t tracking hours, you’re wrong. Now what they do with that data and when, who knows. Better go in and show a good faith effort.
In California, a full day of work is when you hit 4 hours as a salaried employee.
Fwiw this is one of the reasons I joined wells. At my last company, post covid, management didn't care if you logged in and started working at 4 am.....all that matter to them was the time you physically came into the office. It was insanity since the workload did require long hours and the office was nothing more than non stop "huddles" that either delayed or added more unnecessary work by mgt
La full day of work is 8 hours. Stupiid question
How do they know someone isn’t just swiping others badges?? I bet someone could make some good $$ offering to swipe others badges in and out a few days. Week
No report shows time. The data is way too convoluted to figure it out. There's badge swipes, IP address when logged in, but very difficult to determine when you leave in a lot of locations.
Director level here - There is no office hour minimum. The RTO reporting only tracks badge swipes and computer log in's on the network. Really wish we put this much effort into removing our asset cap!!
@wuq+1nG1NBjd, thanks for being here. We like Directors' insights into things so please keep sharing. The more often the better.
4 hours in office to count as a day. Same as half day pto counting as a full day.
There is no minimum time. All they are tracking is badging/logons that show you came to the office.
They are not tracking when you leave.
Show up. Badge in. Log on. Show your face. Then leave quietly.
Dir. here from CIB, have spoken with HR about this topic on a few occasions, the answer is no one knows what a full day is, so I have been telling my people to use their good judgment. No problems at all since March ‘22 when we all RTO’d, and my team is 35 people.
They aren’t tracking hours at this time.
First rule of Fight Club is DO NOT talk about Fight Club.
If you keep up w/these posts, they'll institute 8-hr daily mandate.
The number of hours is determined by your leadership. Under the same senior leader, my department is 4 hours and a coworker reports to a different leader, their required time is 6 hours.
The reality is the system doesn't track how long you're there - just that you were there. I've seen the manager report and it only shows which days of the week you badged in, it does not show how long you stayed.
6 in my LOB and it is tracked on the reports that are distributed.
FYI: they can only track swipes. IE: if you were in the office “n” days. They don’t have the resources or the data to do anything else at this time.
Would like to know this as well. Seems like most teams leave around lunchtime. Is there anything official documented in an email or on the internal site?
They aren't tracking hours in office!!!! Stop worrying about it and just focus on your actual work.
