Traffic for commuters in Dallas is worse than Atlanta and plan on a hike due to not enough parking. This was a quote from a coworker prior to Covid and our employers current agenda to make us missable. What am I missing?

It's not Texa anymore, it's more like Texico because of all the illegals...!
$8,300 property taxes? That’s a bargain! Mine are double that in Nj but we don’t have armed guards and there’s plenty of free parking, so…
"Texas is a great state to live in. "
Except that it's Texas, so it's really not. Not even close.
For most employees considering a move to Texas, you really need to factor in your state income tax as part of the equation. Most transplants will come out ahead even with the exorbitantly high property taxes.
It’s not like you’re not paying property tax where you currently live.
I made the move years ago and it wasn’t easy but you adjust.
Texas is a great state to live in.
No state income tax - the money has to come from somewhere. You need to factor that into your dismay at the property taxes.
Is there taxes for my trailer?
Be glad you don’t have to report to Middletown, NJ. Taxes are about $16k/yr in the surrounding area for a modest $500k house.
Robbin hood school tax. Unbearable and unsustainable
That plus your new mortgage interest rate. Score!!!
Some property tax relief is coming this week hopefully.
The legislation, expected to be passed this week, allocates about $12.6 billion to reduce the school property tax rate by 10.7 cents per $100 valuation for homeowners and business properties. It also includes an increase to the state’s homestead exemption from $40,000 to $100,000 at an estimated cost of $5.3 billion, and some extra relief for seniors and property owners with disabilities, averaging an extra $170 per year.
Yeah ... property taxes in North Texas are obscene... Last year I paid $8,300. That doesn't even include homeowners insurance...
that is the way Texas can say "we don't have state income tax"....oh ...you own property WATCH OUT FOR THE TAX BILL
