Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Two Weeks Notice will they let you go right away without pay or with pay.

Just checking here if I was to give in my 2 week notice would they make me work or dismiss me right away with no pay or with pay?

If you have a snarky manager that wants to do a power play over you, they will walk you out that day & cut you loose. Otherwise, a decent manager will let you work your 2 weeks notice.

It depends entirely on the LOB. With some the SOP is nonworking, in some it's work with limited access, and others it's full access and working the full notice period. TLDR: we can't answer op, not enough info.

Left in the last few months. Gave my two weeks. Worked them less the floating holidays I had left to take. All my meetings cleared from my calendar so they could have cut me loose when I gave notice but didn’t. I just had a few ends to clean up but had that done in two days…..

It depends what area you are in; if you are in technology and have access to sensitive data or systems, they will cut your access immediately but still pay you for the 2 weeks.

If you have access to things such that you could cause problems, they'll probably walk you out the door immediately as risk mitigation.

In audit we have had many people leave for competitors. Everyone of them worked a full two weeks.

They will pay you the 2 weeks regardless if they make you work or not

Just depends on you group’s situation really and the relationship you have with the manager. If your groups swamped with work and/or your needed to train a replacement, good shot of working the full 2 weeks. If there isn’t much work, your management dislikes you, or you just don’t do much anyway, they will just cut you the day you give your notice.

I’ve seen both happen. And when I quit, they made me work the two weeks, even though I was going to a competitor. Actually, they didn’t even ask where I was going.

I've heard that even when they cut you loose immediately, you still get paid for the two weeks as a gesture.

If word got around that everyone would be cut loose immediately with no pay for those 2 weeks, virtually no one would give notice, and for good reason.

Depends if you are going to a competitor or not.
