Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoffs May 16

Is this date still on for the next round of layoffs even though the bank had significant layoffs today?

There is a lot of scraping to reduce costs in tech, very uncreative and uninspiring. A lot of heads are down when walking into the office, unsure of what to focus on today and whether it will matter tmrw.

Are any control or compliance position’s getting cut? With ENGIN and RCSA taking team members from their teams will they be needed when the big lifting is complete

To those posting that layoffs will continue until all of us are gone are incorrect. It will only continue until all of us in the US are gone and only off shore jobs are left.

@giv+1mrlyqyA Is spot on. I work in HR handling displacements. We’ve had contractors helping us for a while now. The March numbers would have been almost double if we had the manpower and SVB hadn’t happened. Layoffs will continue throughout the year even during the summer months. No projections yet for 2024, that I’ve heard anyway.

In tech, get rid of the Product Managers. Architecture already sets the direction of the engineering teams. We don't need Product Managers who do nothing more than shuffle PowerPoint presentations and Agile boards.

IMO, the layer that needs to go is middle mgmt in tech....way too may many mgrs who have maybe 6 or so directs.

Once Hr gets caught up on the next herd of sla-ghtered employees displacing us then the green light goes on and they ax the next group. They can’t handle the numbers that are being thrown at them. They would have done twice the number yesterday but they don’t have the manpower for the overwhelming number of displacements

I seriously doubt it will slow down in the summer, or fall, or even in 2024. The axe will keep swinging.

Every Tuesday of a non-payroll week through the summer. Count on it.

It’s a Tuesday so I’d say yes.

That is the accurate answer. Every day is layoff day until all of us are gone.
