Since RTO, I've been coming into an empty office building. I'm frequently the only person on the floor. Almost every office was vacated, so now i have my own office. I know managers get swipe reports, but how are they monitoring hours worked in the office? Couldn't a person badge in and immediately leave?

I just go in punch and leave. Works perfect! No way am I sitting on the Charlotte hub all day. Most of my team is still remote and they are not going in period. There are lots of threats but they know they can’t touch any of us without a lawsuit.

The best part is that there is a severe lack of talent in the few identified hubs. So 99% of the time we will not get top talent. But gall darn it, those second rate employees will be in the right zip code. lol, this place is stuck in the 19th century in all the wrong ways.

Drive in on Monday night after dinner work
to midnight, badge out, then badge back in and work till 4 and go home. That takes care of 2 days. Maybe swing by the big city on the weekend while you're in town anyway for #3.

The demands being illogical is the point. The entire purpose is to psychologically torment you and convince you to leave. It's also why they said "you should feel lucky" BTW. It's not to make you feel lucky, it's to pi-s you off so you'll quit.

There are lots of employees that do not live near a hub that are not displaced. So there are obviously lots of side bar deals being made. None of these people are going back to the office and are working remote. Hey Charlie. I want one of these gigs. I am not going back either

I'm 75 miles from the nearest WF location. I've been WFH for 10+ years. I was told yesterday that I have a choice to move my work location to the location 75 miles away and start commuting 3 days per week or expect displacement before the end of the year.

I'm a very productive manager, with direct reports all around the US and I absolutely love my job, my team, and my business unit. It's very rewarding. But this decision has to be the most asinine decision in which logic plays no role. The building to which I'll be returning will not contain any of my direct reports.

They told me that they were doing me a favor by giving me an option, as most remotes in our organization (Tech) will be displaced more moved to an office by the end of the year. I don't know what to believe anymore.

How goes an Orlando office continue to exist? Some of these clowns haven’t made an in office appearance in years.

Why did they layoff everyone who did not live near Charlotte hub but keep a bunch of losers who do not live near the hub? They obviously are not going back to RTO and will be working remote. The last time I checked Raleigh was not within driving distance if Charlotte. How does that work? How are these employees getting special treatment and we are not?

When will employees in non hubs be fired? I thought that was part of the hub/location policy they were so intent on pursuing. I’m going in 3 days a week but there are people on our team who live in Hilton Head, SC, Miami, etc. Are these hubs? I think not. There is no policy except what your immediate boss and his/her boss says. Have one standard and enforce it.

So how many days do these lazy managers in Charlotte have to go in? Mine will have to get dressed since she spends the day in her pajamas. When we have a zoom call she makes it a point to let us know she doesn’t get dressed. Disgusting and incompetent. How she did not get laid off is a crime.

@qhv+1mpvl0EB I spent years putting myself into position to get a WFH job here at WF, and I did. And I did a damn good job in that role. Then some POS Fing loser came along and took it away for no Fing reason other than to be a ku-t. Then a bunch of CEO knob gobblers came along and said some ignorant version of 'well, do something about it', as if that isn't exactly what I, and many others, already did.

It's the POSs in Hudson Yards that needs to go, not us. And they will go. It's a matter of time. They aren't satisfied driving one company into the ground. They are compelled to do it again and again so they can ruin as many lives as possible while making the most possible money. So a year or two from now they'll move on, and that will be the beginning of this company's recovery from the worst CEO in history.

I’ve been following all of the RTO policies that have been in writing. I was notified today by my boss that I’m not following policy and it’s really some other unwritten policy, even though the one you mention is the only new written policy I’ve seen. So I’m getting written up..even though I followed the rules. I’m beside myself with what to do now.

I sure do hope you have some skills other than the infantile ability to defy reality that you’re demonstrating here.. otherwise you’ll be the one with “members” in your mouth.

Why don't you 'change your terms of employment' by taking Charlie's little Weiner out of your mouth?

Good grief. This company gets in trouble over and over and over again, and it ALWAYS starts with some executive coming up with a stupid idea, and then a bunch of yes men hacks saying "sounds great sir, let's do it!".

As of 4/26/2023 from the Teamworks "Newsroom" "Technology Workplace Co-location strategy update"

*denotes BOLD on the Teamworks page

"Agile or Scrum designated teams must average one day in the office per week to attend key meetings and events."
"All other Technology employees, including all managers of people, must be in the office three days per week"
"These are the minimum expectations; your leadership team may require additional in-office attendance and will communicate their expectations as needed.

WTH does this mean? Here are the rules but they may not apply to you.

Typical WFB double-talk insanity

Personally I am looking forward to seeing the first wave of firings. I’m fed up with all the time and effort this is taking.

For those of you who keep harping on the fact that you were remote pre-covid and hired that way - so what? Terms of employment change all the time in private industry.

It's been 3+ days of RTO for over a year now. You don't have to like it. In fact, most people including myself hate it.

Wells gave everyone a year+ trial period. Now they are planning to enforce it. We knew this time was coming. Companies do stuff that employees disagree with all the time. This is no different. Put on your big boy pants and do the job you are being paid to do, or leave. Complaining on this board has ZERO impact on WF policy. We all agree with you that it sucks. You're preaching to the choir.

Try sending an email to CS and see how far that gets you.

Cry all you want. Not all jobs are equal. Some of us were hired on WFH. There is no RTO for us because it isn't RETURN when we didn't go into the office in the first place.

Most of the RTO moves are to outsource the work to India.
Resources in India have been told "be ready for everything, including working a shift during US hrs".
Its obvious where this is all heading. every technology team is going to be gutted 80-90% and there will be a shift added to the India folks to work during US hrs!

Your "RTO collaboration" simply means we need to train H1 and OPT visa workers in many cases.

How about invest in American, and treat American as human being?

My favorite was driving 20+ hours to and from an empty office and reading the corporate garbage emails about the company’s (sorry, the firm’s) commitment to the environment during April/Earth Month. D-mb as it seems, me adding unnecessary pollution truly does make me feel cr-ppy.
For all those who keep saying, go find another job- it’s not that simple. And our employer didn’t have to make it this complicated.

Those with accommodations or those who have talked their way out of RTO... it's really not fair. If LOB requires all of us 3x week.....then ALL of the LOB needs to RTO.
Mgmt can’t treat employees differently. I see a HR nightmare --but HR will not care, right?

Driving around and sitting in cube farms isn't my job. None of this BS is in my job description or requirements, which is good because I've been WFH for a decade prior to "RTO". This policy can F right off, as can all of its supporters.

I’ve been coming in 3 days a week since March of 2022. I’ve watched my peers play games and get bogus accommodations (anxiety and postpartum) while I came in and “played by the rules”. 3/2 IS THE EXPECTATION.. be grateful it’s not 5 days in office a week. I hate that so much productivity needs to be directed at policing a bunch of adults to make sure we y’all wasting time and fossil fuels to sit in a cube plantation, but this is the stance that corporate America has chosen to take post pandemic. I’m sure history won’t be kind to Charlie and his peers once the postmortem is done, but they’re going be long gone by then. We just need to survive it till someone and something better comes along.
