Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoff middle managers

The time has come to dump all these managers. My processing manager has been MIA for 2 weeks. She manages 4 of us and we do all her work that she delegates out. We even wrote our own reviews. I am sure she is one of hundreds of lazy incompetent people. Now that Wells Fargo laid off all the processors time to get rid of the managers.

  1. S. in mortgage credit risk “management” is a weaka$$ link that needs cut. In addition, he and his staff of misfit “managers” who perversely focus on minutiae about the risk engine that they themselves cannot understand, should be fired and last years bonus be clawed back. How’s that Duck rangler and “Rip?” A$$holes!🖕🏽

They are the weakest link in the company. Most of them didn't get their jobs by putting in long years of "dues", which normally equates to experience & respect for others. They abuse their power as they feel entitled, having nothing to fear. Many were hired for the wrong reasons. It's sad to see a company support this. It's clear from this board that most of them don't have the respect of the people rolling up to them.

Removing kiss-up managers who are masters of deception makes organizational change very challenging, especially if others in the organization fear a negative impact on their own position or career.

In my ~10 years I’ve had 9 managers through job posts and reorgs. I had three that were good. One I would consider one of the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. The other six were shades of miserable, lazy psychos.

Sadly, my odds are actually pretty good as most people I’ve talked with haven’t had one good manager during their tenure.

Please give us back all the processors laid off and exchange them for all the managers that do nothing. We need these competent people back to get our deals done. Customer services has gone in the gutter. We need expertise and professional What you left us with in Charlotte is hopeless.

Managers are threatening and abusive to employees. I would love to sue mine for harassment. She talks down to people and spills confidential information to people that should not be discussed. She is a Wells Fargo lawsuit waiting to happen. She will never show up in Charlotte as she built her house more than 40 miles away. Hope Someone finally gets it and chops her off payroll. She steals time and money from the company daily.

I was one of 4 people on our team of 7 who were laid off. Manager had no direct client responsibilities and now has 2 direct reports, yet still has a job. Many former colleagues said manager should have been let go instead of me. Shows how out of touch senior management is with what’s actually happening.

Every manager I had at WF was lazy, disinterested in the work, spat on pro-activeness & inventiveness, made you feel worthless, was condescending and couldn't even do my job if their life depended on it.

I know of several middle managers that have had legit complaints about them to HR. We're talking intimidation tactics, power games, etc. Why doesn't the bank connect the dots & get rid of these people? Same with managers with high turnover rates of DRs on their teams. Why doesn't the bank cut those people out if they are not good at their jobs? Why? The bad managers drive good people away & create he-l on earth for their teams. Why isn't WF managing their managers? This must be a failing when it comes to stockholder accountability & returns.

Middle Managers at this bank don't have the core characteristics to do their job: namely, care & guidance for their team, mentorship, intelligence, experience & ethics. Most of them only care about themselves & their little fiefdoms. They will throw anyone under the bus for any reason in order to keep their golden paycheck. The "good" managers I worked for here were too high up to really manage, and their designates the middle managers were terrible & drove good team members away with their pettiness & jealousy, trying to show that they could "manage." Newsflash: Managing people is not abusing them to feel powerful.

totally agree middle mgrs are useless. WF is very top heavy
after the last brutal displacement, current mgr has only 6 directs. hope that means he will be gone soon as now he just spews word salad and joins every single meeting and then hi-jacks call to remain relevant...

I have personally witnessed a low level manager (about 10 in the team), she was constantly texting, surfing and fixing her fake lashes, her nails. She was totally unprofessional and lazy. How did she get hired as a manager? This person has long been gone…she quit because she got pregnant with the boyfriend she was texting constantly..

When all Charlotte managers do not live near Charlotte how will RTO work when they are supposed to be in the office 5 days a week? The upper managers don’t even live in the same state. I think Frederick Maryland is not within driving distance of Charlotte? Will the same rules apply to this group of management? Otherwise I see a class action lawsuit for discrimination and overt treatment amongst employees. Lots of employees are watching.

Our manager spent the past 2 years building a house so she did nothing. Now she is decorating the house. She delegates all her work to everyone else calling it a career building. She is the queen of doing nothing. Her boss is even worse. He is constantly threatening everyone. This duo needs to go as neither will ever show up in The Charlotte office. She built her house too far away from Charlotte so she brags how she will never be RTO and he lives in another state. No training to be a manager here. Neither of them ever processed.

One of my managers came from Lowes Corp. No banking experience, They were useless. On top of that, they were jealous at all the experience the team had & tried to sabotage us. Constantly pushing us down to make us feel worthless. Her manager was surprised when we all left. Never again.

I went a year and a half without a team meeting or introduction to other team members until my manager gets a new boss, now we have regular meetings. My manager didn't show up for my review when on PTO, another boss stepped in. Every time upper management mentions all the things our managers are doing with us, takes my breath away because clearly they don't know my manager has been MIA for the last 2 years. I used to be a manager, I made it a point to teach/ educate my staff for the jobs they wanted to grow into and encouraged promotions/ engagement. I bought some sort of food item monthly and we regularly celebrated each others milestones. I never get a card on anniversary, much less a plastic cube. WF certainly has a management problem, starting at the top.
