worked at T for a long time, but saw the writing on the wall. communications is dead $, no growth, and isnt innovative. you can earn a wage in a T job -specific job title and a made up job -probably doing nothing, you dont have to work hard here, but thats about it. leadership is a joke and each level kisses the level above and to no end. anyone thats young and chooses to be here is foolish

I've been gone from at&t for six years. I just can't quit at&t! I feel like I'm a Broke back Mountain movie.

I had 44 years in then got involuntarily released. I wanted to work until death at T. It was easy money, everyday was a new adventure. There is no life after leaving at&t. I only wish it was cradle to grave for me, but it wasn't to be.
After I left AT&T, I kept driving and parked in there parking lot to pretend I still worked there. It was something I just had to do.
Dude, you really need to get yourself a hobby or find something you're interested in before you end up a retirement statistic. Would hate to see you have a short retirement!
I'm retirement eligible, but am reluctant to retire solely because it doesn't look so attractive after seeing my retired friends lives come to a screeching stop after they retired!

I admit it, I miss my good ole at&t. They was good to me when I worked there. I've heard things have changed over the years. I spend most all of my time on the internet these days, it gets boring.
Honestly, it doesn’t really seem like you left, mentally. You’re on the layoff site talking about how bad ATT was. It actually sounds like you miss the place.
OP is right in his/her assessment of working for T! That's because the C-suite management still has their monopoly mentality and still manage this company like it's the only player in town. You can get away with that for awhile, but in the end it will catch up to you as it already has! T finds itself in a major dilemma with no light at the no of the tunnel! The light at the end of the tunnel that T management sees is a freight train barreling down!
