Whoa, that miss on free cash flow this morning stings. Stock tanking in early trading.
What now?

As far as long term debt, we have gone from $164B on 3/31/20 before spin off to $123.7B on 3/31/23. For the past quarter, from $128B on 12/31/22 to $123B on 3/31/23. So they are focusing on debt reduction at this time rather that stock buyback or raising the dividend, which is good. It will take until 2024/2025 to get debt ratio to 2.5x.
Desroches said in the earnings call that free cash flow will progressively improve throughout the year because capital spending is front end heavy in the first quarter. The projected annual free cash flow is in line with projections.
It just the market didn’t like FCF results for the first quarter.
It takes 2 billion a quarter to pay the dividend
You know what’s next.
t stock valuation is deservedly a reflection of very poor leadership decisions. As long as fed reserve rates rise, there is a risk premium associated with the piles and piles of dept that js and his former golf buddy rs happily anchored to the balance sheet. So now, poor cash flow.. and where does the div come from - cash flow... if eyes are again on a div reduction, watch out. Problem with js and has always been, that he touts his financial acumen but he can't put together (or understand) a basic business case. not sure why he'd want to hang around since he has lost the respect and trust of the rank and file.
Hey Stank!! The stock is down 10% and you think the market is wrong??? LOL
Stock price dropping like bo-b!!!! Hahahahahaha!!!! Stupid Stank….
Same as it always was. Stankey will blame the employees, saying they failed to execute on his objectives. He will never, I mean never, take any responsibility for his failures.
“ My company match for 401K is in T stock, but I always sell it and invest in something that actually has a chance of making a return“
Smart, and anyone that doesn’t do this isn’t. News flash, if you use the “professional management” service available to employees (Edelman)…they do the same thing. Which is funny and kind of sad at the same time.
Down 8% at 9 this am. Never got a raise that bid.
The Stink is very effective! NOT!
The BoD will give him another $18M bonus for such good work!
My company match for 401K is in T stock, but I always sell it and invest in something that actually has a chance of making a return.
The union workers or at least many are not great. I know personally someone who the tech that fix the home Internet lines that while fixing others cut theirs. Rather than fixing it on the spot the person has to call in and open a ticket and wait for the next available tech. This has happened more than once, why do our techs break customers and then just say call the 800 number and have a nice day.
It is ironic that my stockholder notice came in the mail yesterday (NB: To the person who posted that T Stock holders are "mentally challenged", your 401K company match comes in the form of T Stock). My suggestion would be for any employee who believes that our leadership is amiss to make sure you complete your proxy statement and fire the board, rather than just moan and groan about leadership here. If enough of us do this, we may not get the board fired, but it would send a strong signal of discontent.
T isnt in anyone's portfolio except for the mentally challenged. now a $100B company its not even on the radar anymore. piece of junk commodity with zero growth and randy and john blew buckets of cash on junk and had to slash the dividend. its a cr-ppy company that will stick around and do nothing for the remainder of our lives
What now? They will need to find ways to reduce uses of cash. Layoffs only have a minimal impact. Debt servicing has to be a concern from a outflow. The bills of the past are coming due.
Layoffs are working!!!!!
This just in: boring stock stays around $19 boring dollars, per boring share. Ad infinitum.
Layoffs being planned to improve profit. Stankey continues to fail in growing the business profitably
What do you think happens next? A pizza party and then layoffs! If they'd get rid if those lazy overpaid union thugs and get people who actually want to work and wipe out the 500 layers of management that do absolutely nothing you'd have a chance. But nah too many kingdom builders and protected people. Keep losing money.....I'm sure Paschal's guidance is correct and it will level off! Oh yeah ummm hmm.
