Every single person in Hudson Yards could do their job from home, sooooo, yeah, let's keep pretending that criteria is nothing more than a poorly thought-out excuse.
My job is restricted to state side via us regulations. I hope yours is as well.
About, and I cannot stress this enough, fu----g time. I HATE coming to this trash peasant job.
Yep, send all the bank jobs overseas to a country we can’t do business in because all the banks are state owned and any products made in the US are tariffed at 100%. Put Americans out of work, so no money to deposit. Build a middle class there while creating a welfare state here. Just hand the keys over to India and the Chinese and lower the flag already and raise the White one. This country is doomed. All the greedy Rich Executives can move to New Delhi and Shanghai as Rome burns here in the USA.
Good! Fu-k this place and this g-y a-s job lol. Can’t happen soon enough! And good luck dealing with these complete id--ts afterwards 😂

"Immigration is back, in the US at least. Over the past two and a half years, immigration into the American labour market has increased by 4mn workers, and the working age immigrant population has now finally reached its pre-pandemic trend level."
@ahf+1mcrwSDl There are plenty of Americans that can do these jobs, and are willing to do these jobs for a decent wage. The problem is the "decent wage" part. Also, Americans do not have the ICC machine backing us, providing fake credentials and a mindset to only hire from their home country.
If you can do your job in the office, and at home (even if they don’t let you), that includes you too buddy.
RTO simply happens at the same time as outsourcing, but outsourcing has been accelerating since 2004.
"Total H1B Applications Filings Trend Chart – FY 2004 to 2023"
https://redbus2us.com/h1b-visa-cap-reach-dates-history-graphs-uscis-data/
In 2008, there are 123,480 jobs requesting for H1B visa workers.
In 2009, there are 163,000 jobs for H1B visa workers.
During 2022, there are 308,613 jobs that no American workers qualify. We need to hire more H1B visa workers.
in 2023 there are 483,927 highly paid jobs open and cannot find enough American workers willing to take the job.
Obviously, someone who doesn't understand that pretty much any job that doesn't involve physically handling something can be offshored. If your job is mostly software-based, you're a potential downsizing target, especially since your desktop will be in a US data center.

Jobs have been going overseas for decades. This is nothing new and has nothing to with WFH/RTO.
Nah GFY. I just posted a news article.
STFU
Not sure why this would surprise anyone.
