Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

And there is the email.....

Four to Five days RTO, depending on your manager and clients expectations (WTF that means). AND it sound a lot like if you aren't near your team, you are going to either be forced to relocate or be let go.

Interestingly there was ZERO mention of all the current remote people. Odd omission don't you think? LOFL.

What happened to Frankieboy's Intellectual Honesty. He seems to lack all sorts of honesty . I dont think anyone including him believes in the reasons for 4 day RTO

Apply your critical thinking skill - Fiserv is in survival mode, it is dying. I doubt it would survive the recession/depression or whatever it is coming.

People are already leaving in droves on their own and the constant layoffs are leaving teams struggling. We can't get anything done due to lack of capacity and resources. What exactly is the game plan here? Low morale and lackluster employees will produce mediocre products. Sh---y products will impact Fiserv's bottom line and stock price, and Frank's $400M net worth. But what do we expect from this man who had the brilliant idea to build an elaborate new office for a Fintech in Jersey of all places?!

Poster below is correct, remaining remote associates are extremely vulnerable now. “Astronaut” status isn’t going to save them this time. We are all expected to be in office and in the same location as our primary teams and managers. Remotes are going to be picked off in the coming months.

@phg+1mceF3gp

You said it mentions remote employees and that they are not affected. It absolutely does NOT do either of those. It essentially says if you aren't co-located, not just remote people but people who sit in offices where none of their teams are, your manager will be talking to you about "a path" to co-location. That sounds to me like you either move or you get canned. Great business model by our fearless boomer leader. What is this, 1989? FFS.

This is what happens when your company is run by an egotistical, out of touch Boomer. No wonder we can't attract or retain top dev talent. Our CEO is he-l bent on taking us back to the "good ole days" with his stale and antiquated 80's era Wall Street leadership style. Do yourself a favor and get off this dictatorSHIP. You can watch it sink from afar.

Praise God I got out earlier this year after 25+ years. My previous co-worker told me about this email today. What a joke of a company Fiserv has become. It's a prison and getting worse.

FB gave himself a nice 6% bump in pay this year while most in my org got minimal or no raise. What kind of message are they trying to send? Seems to me they are trying to get people to quit since they can’t pay severance. Thus making our lives miserable in any way possible.

Dear Frank. Any policy applied that makes the work culture WORSE than it was during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC is not a good one. Of course tyrants wouldn’t care, and that’s exactly what you are with this cr-p e-mail laced with passive aggressive threats in the name of progress. Progress and Fiserv are a thing of the past thanks to you and your out of touch stupidity covered up by blatant falsehoods and enablers. It’s embarrassing what you’ve done to a once great company.

Signed, anyone with common sense not stuck in the 90s and early 2000s way of executive management.

It’s really comical at this point. Internal support to support clients is non-existent. So the solution is to make people more disengaged by not only demanding that they come in but choosing their days for them. Personally all care has left with that email. I’m applying to other jobs on the clock and hoping to get let go since there is no severance money so I can claim unemployment. 🤷‍♀️

Death by small cuts...these announcements reek of poor group decision making, band-aid pronouncements to placate a toddler tyrant. These policies are written on a white board and change with the wind, only throwing more and more uncertainty to peoples lives. It's a living nightmare and no one to challenge the nonsense.

I’ve had it. I’ve been hanging on, and hanging on thinking, maybe I will outlast FB. But like that line…”It can’t be bargained with, it can’t be reasoned with, it doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are d-e-a-d”

My Director preaches work/life balance. Monday - Thursday doesn't seem very flexible. That entire email was a word salad of contradictions and highly insulting. What was 2 years of the pandemic about? Success WFH

Why can't we pick the day?

Because frank is a tyrant... same reason why you had to get a shot you may not have wanted... same reason why you were forced to move even if you were happy where you were... same reason you come into the office & sit on zoom calls all day...

IT WILL NEVER END... next month it will be something else... there you have it - decide what you want to do.

I bet there will be many shocked by this as they refuse to see the writing on the wall... if you are not in a location where frankie is getting his tax breaks, you are at risk.

I've been 4/1 for a few months now. Was hoping to go to 3/2, but that ain't happening now. I just don't get why we can't pick the day. What if I have a family obligation on a different day of the week? Ridiculous.
