Gartner just released 2022 results. AWS takes the top spot, Microsoft second. This is what happens when LE denies cloud for years. Oracle will keep dropping….

AWS is ahead of Oracle in DBMS Marketshare. Really? How fast we are going down.....
Oracle is the only number three because of vendor lock in. Most customers don’t even like the company, but have invested substantial dollars. They can’t leave, but they would if they could.

"Glad I'm outta O, don't miss it a bit"
Are you, really? What are you doing here then, whining like an old woman.
"I don't understand what you guys are on about bashing Oracle left right and center. My bonuses keep increasing every quarter and within 4 years of moving to a new country, I am able to pay off the mortgage on the house I bought here. I did not bring/move a dollar from my home country."
Well, I'd bet the farm on which "home country" this guy is from. Anyone wanna take a guess?
Oracle is very good at eliminating productive and highly qualified employees who are US citizens and replacing them with others from different "home countries", especially one country in particular. Glad I'm outta O, don't miss it a bit.
Being in the top 3 is still good though. There must be about 20 database companies out there?
Lol this guy doesn’t understand because he’s too naive to realize he’s the root of the problem. The unfortunate thing is these managers only know how to put a g-n to a customers head and have zero sales skill. The org will die and they will file into new orgs with a flawed skill set
I don't understand what you guys are on about bashing Oracle left right and center. My bonuses keep increasing every quarter and within 4 years of moving to a new country, I am able to pay off the mortgage on the house I bought here. I did not bring/move a dollar from my home country. Everything I earned, saved, invested is from Oracle salary and bonuses.
The org is full of legacy executives who tell LE what he wants to hear to keep their big paychecks coming in, while the ship slowly sinks. TK was the only executive who had the confidence to stand up to LE, and now Google is #4 soon to pass Oracle in database marketshare based on his leadership there. Good for him. Too bad we denied cloud for so long and still keep our monolithic view that one database can solve all the workloads and data structures a company has.
Oracle database Org is a complete joke. Overpriced, out dated, and dying quickly. Working as a sales rep in Core tech was the worst experience I’ve ever had. It wasn’t sales at all… it was working compliance deals and auditing my hostages. Truly pathetic in all aspects. So happy I’m leaving and will finally get back into sales, not auditing.
