I am part of RIF about 2 weeks back and the health care insurence company they gave 6 weeks off Severance package.. but we all know it’s a pre planned one they hired in india last year October and forced to give knowledge transfer and then followed by poor rating with no comments or reason given and now they announced layoffs. I am not convinced it’s a RIF as even after layoff team mates from offshore forcing and sending messages for KT . Can I challenge as it was unfair with HR dept as I deserve better Severance package. I disagreed with rating as no written or verbal reason given for poor performance and after rejecting rating still no reply from my manager. #layoff #severance

if you don't know what KT is you don't work at optum or any IT department - that's not an optum owned abbreviation.
i like that the people getting let go are also the people using corporate abbreviations where nobody knows what you are talking about. Nobody knows what KT is. Bye!
Why are you even giving KTs? You are done on the day they told you. Do not reply to the messages, nobody cares about you anymore. Management took care of you, you should take care of yourself and not KTs. Your position was offshored and many positions will be offshored.

So sad. But this is what exactly happened to me. I got 2 for no reason. Still searching for job. Its been 2 weeks I am jobless!

Long history of this by UHG/Optum and nothing or no one has been successful in changing the fact they do this. Get out before it happens to you or if you got RIFed, move on. They are to powerful to fight.
@OP+1mboEjNJ- very sorry this happened. Suggestion for consideration to dust off your resume and move on. As you stated it’s pre-plan. It’s unethical but they are accustomed to reduced cost to pay for fines/lawsuits at the expense of human capitals.
