No transferable skills, don’t produce anything, makes PowerPoint decks and uses buzzwords

Don’t blame the BEC’s. We all had more specialized job titles before Charlie came on board and brought on his HR crew to reduce the number of job titles and flatten pay ranges across the bank. Believe me - none of us like trying to explain to recruiters and hiring managers outside of WF what the titles mean either……because the work didn’t change, the job requirements didn’t change, only the title and the ability to earn more - and not in our favor.

As someone else mentioned, the role itself tells you precious little about what the person does. I've seen BEC's that are policy experts, some that play the role of unofficial PM's, others that do complex reporting, and yes, others that don't appear to do much at all. It's not the fault of the position. It was designed to be a catch-all for many former roles. Roles that were reduced a few years ago with the HR job classification consolidation effort.

Long and short, BEC's, like every other job in the bank, will contain a wide variety of people. Some work hard and add value. Others work little and just take up space.

When I was growing up I always wanted to be a lead senior business execution consultant, or a pilot.

They give all the transferable skill jobs to the injins. They then run off to the next place asking for 100% increases in wages and the BEC are stuck for life doing PPT decks.

The problem is not the BEC role in and of itself. But, that title and many other WF job titles don't tell you anything about what the employee does or is responsible for. Some BECs may do specialized work for the bank that may require a certain skill set and level of experience. While, other BECs are doing more administrative type of task.

Wells needs better and more specific job titles instead of these generic titles we currently have. It's hard to determine what anyone does just based on job title alone.

Sr. Lead BEC here … no transferable skills - came to WF with 20 years exp. In my field from non banking companies like 3M and Apple. Don’t produce anything - I guess improving our business resiliency stance isn’t important … all companies use buzzwords/acronyms.
Wow, you have problems LOL

These jobs are a joke. So are the RSC jobs on the mortgage side. Those people do absolutely nothing. Charlie can ax all these people
