It’s really heartbreaking. So many of us have been with the company for some time now. There’s a recession right now, and Verizon laying people off.

To the last poster... How about you check the stats from 5 years ago before Hans started his "Equity" hiring and sabotaged us from within. The promptly pucker up and kiss my a-s!

It’s… adorable… that people think offshore SPC is the problem when their work ethic and desire to help customers supersedes internal and domestic. It’s a pity that customer experience and other stack ranks aren’t shared company wide. I don’t even work on that side of the business but have had the chance to see it first hand - the behaviors and the metrics. Maybe if it was more transparent you would be looking at your teammates for dropping the ball.

Have been expecting this for the last year. Not hired directly through VZW, but a third party. Had been in a leadership position and stepped back down to sales. No new hires or training classes to be seen in the last year and a half. The amount of SPC issues that find their way to our sales team is staggering. They’re being pawned off on us and being told that we can fix these issues. Simply because either they don’t want to deal with the customers or they don’t know what they’re doing. When in fact we don’t have access to the same systems or have the same permissions that SPC has. This has increased dramatically since they have started outsourcing. Our project in the US has dwindled to the point that they are combining teams from all US sites in the same project. They’re preparing to herd us all out the door because they can pay less by outsourcing.

Hubby got his lovely call this morning. Management didn’t even bother telling the rest of his team. Guess they find out tomorrow. Honestly this is a blessing…so tired of the yearly hold your breath and wait and see games that Verizon plays. We are taking our chips and headed out.

This is horrible. This is going to backfire quickly as multiple people call and thank god when they get someone with an accent that’s easy to understand, and going oversees will ultimately make people stop using Verizon. This isn’t fair to our American hard working people just so they can save a quick buck. Shame on Verizon.

Impacted today — strategy within CMG, under VCG (NYC/BR office). I heard 10% gone within my group. Severance is 2 weeks for every year (minimum of 4 weeks pay), prorated bonus, vacation paid out (not personal time), 4 weeks medical benefit, prorated vested stock units (losing all unvested). Been with VZ for 2.5 years but one was contract so i’m only getting the minimums. Stingy as fu-k, IMO. honestly tho, always hated this job and the boring a-s nobodies who ride for VZ. Enjoy your monotonous lives in NJ with your drinking problems and your defunct marriages. thanking god i’ll never have to suffer in the interior of 140 ever again. severance fr.

@1lhw+1mL0zxDf I know we won’t get tosee the results from the SPC partners but as a PACT rep the amount of transfers and issues caused by SPC that I and my team see is staggering. So tbh I don’t believe that they are better, but I hope for the sake of the store reps we help that they can actually perform. The cynical part of me hopes it fails on them but oh well.

We started hiring/promoting trash that 5 years ago would have not even gotten a job, and destroyed ourselves from within in the name of "Equity" which no matter what leap of logic one would like to take is not "Equality"! One has to do with Opportunity and the other Outcome. There is no Equality in Outcome because you actually have to work for it!

From what Ive seen so far, everyone in VCG is going to basically bid for a new position under the 3 umbrellas. You may be selected, you may not. If you are not selected you will receive a severance (2 weeks pay per year of tenure). We dont know what the 3 umbrellas will look like or what will happen to specialty groups which are definitely still needed even after the restructuring like ATEX, ERT, CRT, TAG, PACT, etc. If your performance has struggled, you are on a PIP, any attendance warnings or documentation, or have been absent from the office on FML (dont tell me its "protected" time, its not. They dont have to give a reason you didnt get chosen.), you're probably not going to make the cut for the spaces that are available at the end of this madness.

Yall should have seen the writing on the wall when they started hiring all these vendor reps, paying them $7/hour (great money for where they live). Then the vendor reps started out performing the domestic reps... it was a wrap. Why would Verizon keep paying you $25/hour or whatever when they can pay people 3-4x less for the same or better performance. Yall got too comfortable. Took too many things for granted. The reckoning has come. It will be interesting to see how the ashes settle.

Basically left us all (in VCG) hanging with you can choose severance or one of 3 roles but we can still decide if we actually want to pick you for that role and if on June 23rd we don't, you are done. And we're not giving you anymore details until tomorrow.

The first on the chopping block should be positions like "inclusion" specialist, some HR, and other meaningless job titles that have nothing to do with "real" business. It's like cancer and they do more harm than good pitting one race or s-x versus another. These are not the same Dems of 1965 I'm sorry to say. Also anyone talking about Unions are out of their minds. They have also lost their value and have just turned into an arm for political cr-p.

Not shocking for l&d trainers... there's no new hire happening probably for the rest of the year from what I've heard. A lot of wasted pay that could go to Frontline teams.
