Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Please just go ahead and lay us all off

Get the agony over with. Working here is a mind fu-k. It’s a horrible abusive relationship where we are treated like d-mb children, gaslit about everything, get no resources to do our jobs, get a pay raise that doesn’t meet inflation, told we can’t get “exceeds” even though our managers made that assessment and then told we should be happy because we are employed here.

Please go ahead and lay me off. I want that damn severance I earned after working in this shitshow for wayyyyy too long.

I'm sorry so many feel this way - but whew...was nice to read actually. I've felt like this a very long time and work from home so don't get to chat with co workers about much...and I refuse to use WF communications to 'chat' about how i feel. I worked in Legal and understand all that can be captured in a split second and used against you very quickly. This is a totally messed up place. EVERY job that goes away in my team gets replaced buy someone in india. BUT they don't work our hours so someone in the states has to pick up their product and present to higher ups. It's a mess. The morale is in the dumper - except that we are all starting to rally around the bad morale and it will be the 'unalive' of the C-suite of folks when it spreads throughout the company...

I used to work hard at home. Now back in the office and I do nothing. Get in. Read the newspaper troll the internet. 2 hour lunch. Go home early. Collect my paycheck every 2 weeks. Got to love working in this hole! They give us nothing so that is what they get in return. Love this site. My coworkers and I collaborate on the posts here

I'm right there with you. This regime is openly hostile to employees. There's no real strategy beyond outsourcing, cutting headcount regardless of the outcome, and closing entire businesses to reduce costs. They cut benefits at every opportunity. They rig the rating system and then try to put lipstick on the pig of cr-ppy scores. Messed with our 401k match frequency and bonus eligibility timing. And of course, the mother of all F Us to employees, RTO and the location strategy. They F us constantly, and it's obvious that they are doing it intentionally to tank morale. Mission accomplished there, but I'm not just giving them what they want and resigning. I've been a lot longer than the Hudson Yards clowns and I'll be here after they are gone too. These pencil necks aren't chasing me off without a fat severance. So I'll play their stupid little games if that's what I have to do, or they could get max performance out of employees. Their choice, but they don't get both.

I used to give it all, give more than expected, come to the table with new ideas, be the positive “can do” person…all of it, but under CS “leadership”, I just don’t have any sh--s left to give. I get the very minimum, so I am giving the very minimum. I’ve been around long enough to know how to play the game and look good on paper, so no worries about getting fired. Im holding out for displacement. If I don’t get displaced, I’ll continue on the same path.

With all my extra time, I’m learning about establishing other streams of income. If I can replace this WF income, I’ll gladly quit. If I can’t replace my income, I’ll invest the extra money as a rainy day fund for the day in case I get displaced. Either way, this place is not getting my full ability, ideas and energy. Nope. You get what you give.

In this case, it’s two middle fingers up.

All I do in the office is log in and collaborate around the water cooler. If they want work done, it'll get done at home.

Agreed. I got laid off. Have 12 months severance and my 60 day non working. I can’t begin to tell you how free I feel getting away from this sh&thole. No more being mentally beaten down and abused every day. When they tell you how lucky you are to have a job tell them to F&ck off!

Spot on. Give the minimum, and only the minimum, especially when you're in the office.

Current and previous Wells leadership caused this horrible mess. Never feel guilty about not carrying their water while you wait to get laid off.

I feel the same, 100%, every day.

I won’t leave without severance. I will follow what I must, to get by until displacement happens. I know that it will happen, eventually under the current c-suite regime and my “location” status.

I do feel that I am owed my severance. I am not part of the “entitled” mindset of people who are waiting for every little thing they think they are owed by others. However, WF has screwed me over enough in recent years that I will hang on until I get displaced. Quite candidly, I need the severance weeks/months off to get my head back in the work game from this abusive, toxic garbage dump.

Until then, reminding myself daily to give only what I have to and nothing more.
