How is "In a Hub' Defined?

Does anyone know how they are defining if you are "in a hub"? I suspect that there are many people whose current Webphone "location" is in one of the hubs, but are actually quite a distance a way (not acceptable commuting distance). Would these people be counted in the group that must report to that hub in either July or Sept, or in the group of employees not considered to be in a hub? (I realize this is problematic either way, but apparently in the Legg organization, employees in the latter group get a little more time before they either move or are terminated.)

This can’t be a real question….it has to be satire. No one would seriously ask this.

You are required to report to your address in phone for 3 to 5 days a week. So if you live in say Oklahoma but keep your address in phone as Dallas, it will be a short-lived trick. You will be fired for not being in compliance with the policy.

“ When they say hub location, such as Dallas, Atlanta, St Louis, etc., is it going to be one big office in each city or is it any of the office building in the area?”

The company will be assigning you a location. It’s not your choice of location in the hub city.

Sit back and wait.

Either way, if you refuse to relocate or decide to relocate you are screwed.

There are plenty that wont risk breaking rto rules and will anonymously turn you in if you don’t show up and stay 8hrs

You need to be within 50 miles.

If the hub is already the office location, then they are in the hub location. What is changing in that circumstance is the hard mandate of in the office 3 to 5 times per week, and them telling you that will be monitored for compliance, and non-compliance will result in discipline, up to and including termination. I guess we will see if they are sincere about that last part or not, because there are always going to be some that will try to skirt the policy. Difference nowadays will be that it's likely your peer that IS complying that will be the one turning you in, getting you that attention on the CRE report (and that bade swipe and LAN/ VPN monitoring is a REAL thing, I have seen the reporting...it's nothing new, been around a long time now).

‘Hub’ = labor camp where people are forced to relocate and perform work 3-5 days a week. You will be monitored while working and if you don’t comply you will be fired. You will be placed in the crowded room with strangers. Study shows that if you place a large population of rats in a small place they became aggressive. Your life will be changed forever.

Legg and his team have always received special consideration. It's wrong but that's the way it is. Just sit back and watch, I guarantee you Legg and his team will get preferential treatment on this new RTO policy. Just remember the first group to go to Atlanta and Dallas will have better opportunity for housing, and the best office in Whitacre Tower.

Here is the unfortunate reality. T can create hub locations, passive aggressively force folks out or have them move to save their jobs. Thing is, a relocation guarantees nothing, zip, nada. The surpluses will continue, repositioning will continue and growth will remain stagnant. Once you open your eyes and realize that T is a very ill company, with little hope to retain most employees in the long term the more clearly you will be able to make a smart carrier choice. There will however always be work at T, but the days of middle class wages or higher are quickly coming to and end. Plan for your next career move and don’t be caught flat footed believing that a relocation buys you any type of job security..it simply doesn’t.

More importantly even if you are in or near a HUB you are not considered safe unless your department has deemed you local and/or customer facing. Many of the groups are considered a “National Function” (eg: HR) and therefore must relocate.
