I'm a L2 individual contributor, my team's work is likely to be "centralized". I am waiting to get more detail on the "generous" relocation services that are available to me per John Stankey. Anyone hear anything? Bueller?

Just be glad you don't work for IBM. They move their employees frequently. Employees claim IBM stands for "I've Been Moved".
I would never relocate for att.
Hey this is the OP. I guess most of you didn’t get my sarcasm. I’m quite aware we will not be offered any relocation money. Just ticked at the fact that a boldfaced lie like that gets put out there.
Use common sense people, at&t is busted a-s broke. Stankey ain't paying for any relo, and no severance if you don't relo.
I relocated with a different company. I was hit with a big tax bill, since all relo benefits were taxable. I had to stay in the job for at least a year or else I’d have to pay back a prorated amount. I hated the new location and quit before the year was up. Something’s to keep in mind.
I've been relowed three times by the company (L2). I understand there are 3 packages, starting at a flat $10K, up to the deluxe that included buying your house (middle of 3 appraisals), 2 house hunting trips for you/spouse, and utility installation fees. Your relocation coordinator is from a vendor who performs this service for the company (mine was Caldwell-Banker Relo Services). The expense for the relow was charged back to your own organization code, and required L5 approval.
Look on HR One Stop. Reloc policies are there. Plans A, B, C, D. Word is though that there is no budget for that and additional Hub locations will be designated as a result
Ha ha. That's hilarious. And I thought comedy died with Robin Williams. You crack me up. Good one. Can you also impersonate an old British nanny? Stankey ought to have you perform at the next executive getaway in bora bora this december. Oh, but wait, you'll be terminated from att before then.
There are no relocation packages for individual contributors. Maybe if you are corporate executive they will pay you to move. Stanley is a liar. All he wants is to make your life miserable. Evil at its purest form.
Who would want to move to the crime ridden hub cities they have chosen? LA? ATL? DAL? SEA? No freaking way. Who is selling their house and giving up their 2.5% mortgage for an 8% Mortgage in the woke crime capitals of the country.
The relocation package includes a new chair in a new cube in a new office, followed by a layoff notice three months after you've completed upheaving your life and moving to Texas.
Yee-haw, y'all!
Depending on the contract, represented employees would receive about 10% of the appraised value of your home, 3 days off to do an exploratory trip to where you being relocated to as well as paying the expenses for the trip (lodging, food, gas), paid moving expenses including hiring movers to ship your things, and even covering some of the realtor fees. We only received this because it was bargained for in our contract, and I’ve had managers deny my 3 days off for needs of the business for one of my moves.
Management is it’s own animal, so I don’t know if the company is willing to do much of anything for them.
What relocation package? "Some" and I mean "Some" L3+ supervising employees "Might" see this, but nobody else will. Stankey is a professional liar by trade. He can tell the general public whatever he wants and they'll take it at face value. You're dreaming if you think for one min a relocation package will be offered for IC's, AM's and AD's impacted by this.
A few years back a friend moved his family from NJ to TX and 3 months later he was laid off.
You should Relocate to Sf bay area to get your relocation package worth.
A former coworker fell into this situation years ago. They told her she was being surpluses because her job was moving 58 miles away (8 mile difference). She asked about relocation and then they told her that her ROLE was being eliminated at her location specifically. No relo opportunity.
Be prepared for shenanigans. Relos will mostly be offered to supervising directors and above only - and discretionally.
Where are all the union haters, knee-pad wearing L2/3 management, DEI lovers and "experimental, jab takers" that backed Stanks before for those solid decisions?? You know....when craft jobs are being riffed quarterly, constant craft bashing as "lazy & whiney", or how the company was so caring of your "well being" that they mandated you as a pin cushion?!?!? A little reminder here...It's the same people making this life defining option for you now!! Let's give another round of applause to corporate leadership (in the salty sense)!!!! Folks, can you finally see know one is any better off than the number sitting (very soon) next to you, good luck or good riddance!!
What about employees like me? MIT MS class of 2016! Nevermind, I think I'll move on, this whole cr-p show is unreal.
No relocation package will be offered. We give you normal severance if you do not accept to move to hub city. So you move on your own dime.
Get real people, how much time will that stepping stone really buy you? I say not long maybe a year, maybe two. Stankey has no intention of keeping more than 85K employees, less if possible. Ask yourself, do you feel lucky?
There is life outside of AT&T. Might not be teeming but the sooner you get off the better off you are.
100% on your own dime. The good news is that housing prices are up, it’s a higher cost of living to move to those hubs, and the interest rate is 2 1/2 times what it was a couple of years ago.
Essentially, if you decide to move you are taking a good sized pay cut. On top of that, it’s going to draw you away from your family and result in divorces for many of you.
You're going to get a relocation package alright- Relocated to the unemployment office.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens when people do relocate and then get laid off within a few months of relocating.
One of the town halls I watched they said att has relocation packages of various sizes depending on how much they value that role
They didn’t say no soup for you. But it was pretty obvious
You will be able to keep your job for some period of time. That is about it.
I heard from leadership that "Stanley was misquoted" in the public article. All relocation packages must be approved by an officer. Good luck with that.
EAP Services Nothing financial. Just a PR sound bite. The Directors I know that have been told to move are not getting a dime.
