Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

If you haven’t quiet quit yet, you should.

Quiet quitting is the future of work at soulless large companies. There is no incentive for going above and beyond.

This place is the most corrupt company in the world. No we are not grateful to be here. I will make sure I continuously rip off this company by lying cheating and stealing because guess what? I learned from Charlie that this is acceptable and they do it daily. So I will follow suit and do the same. I never contact customers. I never log in to apps. I cheat on my annual training. I lie on my time cards. I steal supplies now that I am back in the office. Yes I have become a criminal but working here it is acceptable!

It’s very basic math. The asset cap means fewer sources of revenue. How do you then “grow”? By shrinking expenses - aka salaries, bonuses and benefits.

Last year my bonus was 150% of what used to be a target. I got a consistently exceeds rating with a 12% bump and was being courted for an internal role for even more money. I had two thoughts. 1- I would NEVER have a year like that again at WFC and 2- even in a new role it was the same broken place I had to work so hard to have any modicum of success in.

I left for more money yadda yadda. I have to be in an office 2x a week but the people are not toxic and the bosses are not trying to grind blood out of stones. I come here every Sunday night to see if anything has improved. Sadly, it seems as bad if not worse. Why people still hang on for “remote work” is a little beyond me but I get it, all you know is either being promised your own isolation or are being forced into a building with toxic people. Just know not all hybrid work is created equal.

Do your best, I’m sure it’s good enough for this chaotic, broken place. I am applying for external jobs, but don’t mind working here except for RTO, which I am complying with. I drive to the office three days a week and stay there for about four hours, then go home and log back on. It makes zero sense but I’ll do it until I find a remote gig.

Morale is very low all around. How big will Charlie’s bonus be this year, all while telling us times are tight?
I was a high performer 3 years ago but have zero incentive to do so any more - especially after being told my Exceeds was downgraded for no reason at all.

I used to consistently receive 4s or 5s but can’t crack exceeds even though my boss wanted to rate that way. Apparently, I’m being punished by the rest of the team who is struggling. So I can only exceed if everyone else does too?

So I’ve taken a step back. I’ll do exactly what is expected at the highest level of quality because it’s my own reputation on the line here. However, the extra time, creativity, pushing the boundaries to drive innovation and taking a leadership voice on the team have faded away. No reward for extra work? The extra work will vanish.

I’m using my newfound time to network and build a compelling resume so I can move on.

Don’t you worry about us. Worry about your self as you sound like either a troll or Charlie trolling out site wanting to convince people how great this place is. We choose not to work because this place s&cks. Period. Why work when this company treats people like they do. I would rather steal their money and treat them just like they have treated thousands of others with the chainsaw massacre. So we choose to waste away our day and refuse to work. Once they start treating employees right then we will work. FRTO

FRTO. Those that support it should be sla-ghtered.

Reading these posts makes me so worried for our future. Not because of Charlie but so many entitled people bragging about not caring and not trying. How you all aren't performance managed out of this company is beyond me.

Get over it. RTO is here to stay. And good luck leaving and finding flexibility elsewhere. Poor performance = poor pay ... yeah - that sounds about right. If you were a good employee in 2022 your pay increases should have been well above 2%. Bonuses were also very generous.

I get it why the people who gripe on this board are seeing under 2% or watching their bonus get whittled down.

Don’t quit, you won’t get severance pay f you quit voluntarily!

The only thing employees get is, "be thankful you have a job". I am thankful and will do only the minimum. Be thankful you still have a body in this position.

Changed 401k matching from quarterly to yearly, merit increase based everyone in the same position, removed target bonuses, stop backfilling positions, employee monitoring, RTO, make people quit to not provide severance, no promotions for long time employees, DE&I hiring of anyone remotely qualified, and what do we get for retirement now? The ability to stay on WF insurance for 3k/month. This is why we quiet quit.

Why work and give it your all when there is zero incentive to do so. Those days are over. I do nothing all day and when we are forced to RTO I will continue to do nothing. See what you have done to us Charlie. You as a leader are a complete failure. We all despise you

Is the annual 2% max merit increase, no target bonus, and rank stacking an incentive to work any more then the minimum? The C-suite has taken as much as possible from employees, while EXPECTING more. That is a C-suite problem. Performance and productivity is a C-suite problem. It was the C-suite policies (DE&I, RTO, etc..) that forced knowledgeable, long time employees out, without backfilling, thus creating additional work for the employees that remained, again with no incentive. F the C-suite, do the minimum. Join a union!

I go in periods of up and down throttling. So I can point to the “highlights” at the end of the year.

I've actually gotten 120% of my target the last two years plus a 24% raise last year. Just keep telling yourself that it's the company and not the man in the mirror

Never in my life did I think this would be me — but I’ve learned from WF that giving anything more than absolutely necessary does NOT pay off.

So bare minimum from me, it is. After hours - too bad. An issue that I didn’t create or have the ownership to directly fix - oh well. Ideas to better processes or the team - those will remain with me.

I’m full time remote and going to take college classes and collect tuition reimbursement. No incentive to work hard since I’ll just get a meets rating. and I am unable to apply for any new positions since they are all hybrid

@iwv

Bless your heart for correlating bonuses with effort.

Your lazy peers get the same (or 90+% of) amount, but don't let that stop you from being an office geek. You do you.
