Public Sector needs and overhaul.
There are too many AVP and Tech Sales Managers, not to mention incompetent Senior Principal Architects and Technical Sales Consultants.
Filling out orders incorrectly because they don’t understand how the services work. No hands on experience, just sling acronyms around.
The Cybersecurity group is dysfunctional not a high caliber team, just C players.

PS is a huge part of mobility revenue and new business. As mentioned above - spectrum came from FN.

Cyber could go, IoT could go but right now they seem to be about finding efficiencies. Too many layers and too many redundancies from a comp perspective. Can’t pay 6 or 7 people for the same deal and make money.
IMO some of this has been in the making for awhile-but a lot of what you're seeing now is a knee-jerk desperate realization that holy $*%t we hit the iceberg -c-level and vps to the lifeboats everyone else grab a bucket and bail, don't sit and hope that you can hide this one out or believe that your hard work and past success will save you or think my numbers are the best on my team and my manger likes me-surly they'll keep me.
There is only so much growth to be had-so to make the numbers work-cutting operating costs and efficiencies which in T speak means people are the focus...nothing is off the table and no organizations and no one is safe at this point public sector is still a big focus for T, but the org is also going through a major restructuring and personnel will be severely impacted by the just announced consolidation of the public sector & firstnet business units-expect to see a significant number of the ps and firstnet sellers and sales managers moved out of the business -it wont be personal-just don't need as many, people are also wondering if there will be staff reductions in retail and if there is a need for the business acquisition team. strategic-legacy wireline -can't cut there quick enough and while fiber is a key metric-those teams are also being looked at closely. smart money says don't get caught watching the paint dry and get your house in order-get your resume polished up, start networking and applying for jobs outside the company before you have to compete in your area with more even more laid off tech workers
Public sector is a cash cow (minus all the wireline )
Public sector brought firstnet to at&t , without firstnet at&t does not have premium spectrum.
They will sell anything that fetched a fair market price. Including YOU.
No chance T sells off anything unless it’s easy to separate from the rest of the business. At this point, anything they don’t want will be reduced down to nothing.
