RTO alternative locations in stl

Has anyone in stl had any luck finding an alternative location besides downtown? I am within WIM and have seen WF Advisor building off 40 near chesterfield that would be closer but I didn't see that location in Guardian to get access.

Some of these retail client- facing offices are HUBS and could potentially support a WIM employee. I am part of WIM and it is happening in other states as we speak. If the technology can align with your LOB in any home, it can align with your LOB in any HUB.
Having said that, you do require permission.

My observation is that if your manager needs you because you bring a unique skill or irreplaceable institutional knowledge to the table, they will work with you. If you are another easily replaceable.cog in the wheel, the answer will be no.

Are you serious or absolutely clueless? Those are client facing branch offices. You can’t just badge in & grab a desk. They have been there since the AG Edwards days. You can only work from where you are approved to work from. Not a hard concept to understand!

You work in WIM, live in STL (near Chesterfield) and just now noticed the Chesterfield location? You are so far away from the business you have no business being in Chesterfield. Next are you going to say you just noticed the Frontenac location? Those offices are for client facing people only. You'll need to stay downtown like the rest of us.

You have to go to the HUB. Period

That's sort of the whole point you need a "HUB" that your business unit is approved for per Location Strategy. Your closet office might not be approved for your LOB. For example, technology needs to align with certain "strategic" markets (the excuse given was that's the 'cities that the cloud is in', no really is was). Just because the building says Wells Fargo doesn't mean anybody can RTO there.

Usually this is an office you are trying to avoid because of commute, traffic, parking, uri-e on the sidewalk, personal safety, etc. They are trying to get people into disused office space in expensive downtown areas to prop up commercial real estate holdings and for tax breaks to "revitalize" urban blight and bring high paying technology jobs into a tax base or constituency. It's a negotiation between employers, tax authorities, and real estate stakeholders (usually also the 2 before mentioned parties).

A good example is Chipotle. They relocated to Southern California in 2019 (or there abouts). Most employees were given the option to relocate except technology - they were all let go with no choice to relocate (Technology was affected!!). Some politician in California made good on a promise to, "bring more tech jobs to our city/state/county", by poaching them from Colorado. Now some vacant commercial real estate in Fashion Island is full, a few more people in California have "tech jobs" and Chipole has some Economic Incentive Tax break (and objectively worse customer service).

Going to a cr-p office for no good reason with nobody you work with isn't an unfortunate side effect of RTO - it's the whole point.

There are several WFA offices around St. Louis, such as in Chesterfield, if your manager and their manager would allow you to set up shop there. Not sure which office is considered a HUB.
