Childcare Stipend

Does T offer any type of employee stipend for childcare? I had a child last year and am going to have to find a daycare option with a return to the office. Is there a daycare facility at Dallas headquarters?

What about your baby daddy? Shouldn’t he be able to support your child??

“You already receive 12 weeks of extra paid time off that your coworkers get to pick up the slack for. And you want more. It is no wonder they go to extremes.”
What an ignorant thing to say.

WFH is not in lieu of childcare. I paid insane amounts to daycare despite WFH. Be an adult.

"Goes to the IQ level of existing employee base still at T. Bet she wants gas money to drive to work also…"

Typical slave mentality. There have been realized benefits to working out of the house that have become expected now:

  1. Not having to pay for childcare.
  2. Not having to pay for gas and car maintenance.
  3. Limited need for an extensive wardrobe.

A lot of this has enabled people to save more money and better handle the inflationary pressures that have been hoisted upon us as we continue to pay for COVID. With this being the case, it will be a realized pay cut for a lot of people. People will need to evaluate if the "season of their life" means they can continue in the current environment. People have been given a taste of truly working independently and have also been able to realize real cost savings.

It might be a safety violation to carry a newborn with you up a pole to hang fiber drop.

Go ask your boss for a raise and explain you were caring for your child while working at home and now you need to pay someone during the day and need a raise to cover it. Maybe he will see the light and let you bring your child to the office where you can care for it during work hours. I am sure he will understand and sympathize with your situation and perhaps inform their boss, so they are aware how bad Stankey's idea is and was poorly thought out. LOL (sarcasm)

“ Hard to believe anyone would be so stupid to ask this question. You are not entitled to free child care. This is what your paycheck is for. You've had three years of no daycare expenses. You should have saved some of that cash. I don't want to pay your daycare expenses.”

Stankey mentioned something about a discount to childcare. One of those benefits that anyone on the street outside the company gets. No, there are no stipends of any kind for us below the C-suite.

This whole policy is how Stankey is forcing people off payroll without severance. He’s done shady swindling since he took over. First it was reduction in vacation and pension. Then it was the continuos reminders last year to “leave now with a lump sum”. This year it’s this RTO policy and probably an announcement that all pension plans will be sold to private equity firms and no underwriting to guarantee employees will get annuities if sold to 3rd party and no more lump sums. But I expect that to next year’s “Stankey Surprise”: get out with lump sum by 2025 or risk no pension in the future

With the 3 years as CEO, Master Stankey has shown his undying love for cruelty towards the non-C-suite employee. Reminds me of the Alice In Chains song. “Rub my nose in sh—“

OP is part of the problem…there is no way you can work a full day while watching your kids. Should have already been in a daycare. For those of us who have been working for home for a decade and work our as--s off, thanks a lot slackers.

Haha. What a joke. Why would ATT offer a “stipend for childcare?”

What do you think your check is for? You choose to have that kid. You pay for it and its care!

Depending on the age of your kid/kids the daycares in downtown Dallas have multi month long waiting lists.

That’s what your pay check is for. I’m sorry if 50 pct of it is needed for day care but this is not a faang company over paying to attract younger talent
