Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Unionize

For those who keep saying that Stankey and Co. don't listen or don't care: unionize. They will listen when the company comes to a grinding halt, and we have the power to do so. This isn't even about RTO. RTO is just the straw that broke the camel's back. This is about the garbage health plan that has us paying premium for last year's bronze plan. This is about the non-competitive salaries which did not receive any of the so-called "inflation adjustment" that was promised back in 2022. The reality is our salaries have significantly decreased over the last 5 years, all while company revenue increases. Where is the money going? Don't think too hard about that one.

Completely out of touch CEO wants to attract "talent." How cute. :)

I have a better idea: How about we start slashing salaries at the top?

What do these executives even do here besides writing a long-winded emails that ChatGPT could generate in about 30 seconds? They are not the ones keeping the lights on, that's for sure.

Unionize. It's your legal right.

Yes, it hides the laziness of the current union employees. One guy said he's been in craft 25 years and only makes 125K - sh-t, my garbage man makes more than that so he must have a better union and more skills

Lol, the CWA is powerless huh? Remind me which group got their vacation taken away, is earning less money, paying more for benefits, and is now being forced across the country to “collaborate “ on their own dime to save their jobs

Yeah, I'm waiting to hear that myself. Now GO SELL YOUR HOUSE AND GO COLLABORATE!

Apply for a union prem tech position, you may like sweating a-lot, and getting your clothes dirty. You can’t have a union in management

All I know is as a craft employee in Florida , I earn about 120k a year without any stress whatsoever. My job is easy, even fun sometimes. Been here 25 years. Would never go management. You all might get paid more but it comes at a greater price. Most of you managers are too damn stressed out. I’d rather make a little less but have a healthy mind and heart. Great benefits too. Oh and it’s all thanks to the union.

All these anti union posts a clearly as clueless as Stankey!!! We are one of the few with clauses and guarantees! My contract in district 4 has a JOB guarantee even WITH surplussing ! Also, we have a follow the work clause. My union actually works for me... sorry that you have never experienced it!

OK, I can't say I tried to warn you about the downside to unionizing, but if you think it'll solve all your woes, then go for it! Go ahead and pay $60-75 per month dues for nothing! Your jobs will be off-shored so fast you'll never know what happened! You'll still be looking for another job even after giving the CWA your monthly dues abd getting nothing in return!

Do you like being laid off because of your tenure instead of for performance or having your bonus and raise redistributed to less productive workers? Then a union is right for you
