how does this add up? $5k award for referring new employees while cutting others? the strategy of letting existing employees go with 2 weeks notice to 'find a new job' shows the desire to cut seasoned employees in favor of new recruits. it is time to stand up to this bully and file formal cases at the state, federal, and corporate level for accusations of age discrimination.

It's a drawing for $5K - you aren't guaranteed $5K if your referral is hired.
Why would anyone hire on here? There’s a hiring freeze that just keeps going and going. Nobody is being backfilled and they’re absolutely no chance to do anything with your career here, other than cashing a paycheck for an entry level job.
I would discourage people from working at ATT at this point! It's become a very disappointing place to earn a living!
Just give them a title, then pay them peanuts, all is right with the world.
There are parts of AT&T that are still growing.
I tried it , they offered the prospect such a low wage he walked away. it’s but a dream
Who would recommend that friends or family pursue employment at T in its current state?
"youth movement"
Sounds cute, but in most states you are an "employee at will", which means they are free to let you go at any time, for any reason.
Now, of course, discrimination based on age or any of the other protected classes is illegal. But you can be pretty sure they aren't reporting or documenting that as the reason anywhere.
And they are shrewd enough to spread it around to where it could pass any serious scrutinization.
This allows at&t to dump the dodo birds and bring in ambitious workers.
New employees are much cheaper and will not be around past the 5-7 year mark. This is T’s updated longterm employment plan moving forward.
