It's too bad too because the site used to be reliable, but now it's more of a scam than a site you can come to, to find out what is really going on. So, I am done with this place, moving on and will try to locate another site that has a much better track record of getting real info out to it's worker bees! Clearly this site no longer makes the grade.

Whether you’re here or on another similar board, what you need to do is look for patterns. Patterns across many independent posts are much more meaningful than any one specific rumor.
When something’s cooking, thousands of employees each see a tiny piece of the puzzle. Some share concerns about odd things happening in their workplace - freezes, calendar meetings, etc. - while others chime in, and eventually a few patterns start to emerge.
And as others have said, trolls are usually pretty easy to spot - just ignore them.

How exactly does YOU leaving the website affect layoffs? Lol. I get what you are saying but your own post is literally what’s wrong with this forum. This is supposed to be a forum about layoffs and layoffs only. Your post is one of the biggest issues as to why this site has gone downhill. This isn’t forum to just vent, there are plenty of other places to do that

This right here is the best if not only way. People ask how I could possibly know what I share ahead of time and get it close or 100% right every time. This is the reason. Hasn't failed in the last couple of years since I found this site.
If you work for Verizon, you can quickly sniff out fact from fiction by the words and phrases used.
I have also been led to other public sources I didn't know were available that can fill in the blanks and verify what is said here.
It doesn't take much effort.
Some are as easy as asking "She who shall not be named aloud"
Troll: "Verizon stock crashed today!!"
"Alexa, what is Verizon's current stock price? Huh... nope... didn't drop... Moving on."
Any rumor board, where people can post anonymously, is inherently unreliable. Typically, if there is a big RIF coming, there are multiple posts/threads for several weeks leading up to the event. It is baked into the cake that someone will pick the last pay period of the month, and give that Thursday as "the date". Eventually, they will be correct, and they'll say "see, you all didn't believe me." You cannot take any single post on this site at face value, but rather look for patterns across several posts over time.
