@Op WHQ a ghost town this week. Definately many of D, SRD, VP, LT missing, just working staff keeping the lights on. Except for AMs pep rally early this week she tried to bring the hype but clearly we showed her the burnout and lack of emotion. Marketing certainly had to find tiny groups of people hyped in the majority crowd silent. Also weird picks for hyping.
In all large organizations there are two sure signs that layoffs are coming (source: 20 years working for larger corps, living thru 11 reorgs). First: reorganization at the C suite level. Names of people you haven’t heard of ‘retiring’ and other people you haven’t heard of bringing their ‘amazing skills’ to a new team. Then it will be a smaller downsizing somewhere that isn’t the main hub. Outsourcing part of IT, HR, distribution centers, etc. Both of those things have happened in the last few months. It’s coming. As the venerable Samuel L. Jackson once said: ‘Hold on to your butts.’

Well no sh-t. I've worked at a number of Fortune 100 companies and the basic tech management here reminds me of those goober-nerd-bullies like you see in the IT Crowd.
