Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle is getting REALLY desperate. "Force Majeure" LOL

Attempting to claim Force Majeure on it's data center commitments. There is only one problem, "Force Majeure" doesn't apply to stupid deals a company cant afford. It usually only applies in the case of acts of Nature like Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, and severe storms, for human actions like wars, riots, strikes, and acts of terrorism, or government actions like unexpected laws, embargoes, or shutdowns.

Oracle looks VERY weak, and VERY broke if they are trying this stunt.

The debt payments are on a fixed timeline but the income that Oracle planned on making isn't. By definition Force Majeure means related to a catastrophe. The catastrophe Oracle is referring to is their potential to default on the deal. There must be a benefit to future lawsuits if they submit the warning in advance of the default. The warning becoming public probably increased the likelihood of a default occurring. It spooked the markets and highlighted the AI bubble.

The real story here isn't the filing, it's not an unusual legal maneuver at this stage of development, and Oracle isn't the only one doing it. The real story is this got leaked. That's the unusual part.
